Hey lisa,
You keep plugging away love. Being in debt is hard enough without having a b!tchqueen from Hell as a relative. Just don;t forget it won't be forever, and after that date you'll look back and say 'remember when...'. You'll come out stronger. Deal with Her From The Swamp of Despair when you're good and ready for it.This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Wow I have just sat and read this from start to finish and can I just say I have so much admiration for the way you have dealt with all of this.
We are all on rollercoasters of our own and reaching out for help is not always easy. You have had so many downs but I am so pleased you are on the up nowwell done and keep going.
Just a thought.... aside from keeping this thread it might be worth writing a diary that Sam and Mollie could read when they are much older as I am sure Sam in particular will question what and why as his comprehension grows with age.
We have had a life changing event this last year and I know our children (aged 4 and 7) will keep asking as the years go by and I will explain and go over events again and agian. If you write down your thoughts and reasons then it might help clarify things for you now but also help your children see what you had to put up with at the time.Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -

Well, I thought 'Insane Old Bag Lady With Issues That Make Hannibal Look Like A Choir Boy' might be a tad insulting....This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Hi Weller
I've just read this thread from the beginning for the first time, sometimes feeling like crying for you, sometimes a second away from offering to go and tell your mum(!) and quite often reading out bits to my OH in an 'oh my god you won't believe this poor woman's mother!' stylee! You really have come on quite some journey since the original post - you're doing amazingly.
Your mother is a small, sad, unwell woman, pathetic in her efforts to control you. She's a bully of the worst kind, picking on an innocent and unknowing little boy because she can't deal in an upfront way with adults. You are so much bigger than she is. You may feel that she's really one of a kind, but i think you'd be surprised how many mothers there are out there like yours. A relative of mine had similar problems with her mother to the point that she has completely cut her out of her life and has been so much happier since. I completely understand you wanting to protect your dad, but don't forget that he's an adult and it's not YOUR fault, it's HERS. Your hubby sounds fab, and your kids absolutely adorable. There is no way that she'd be able to get social services to take your kids away, but then you know that. I'm glad you can see her pathetic efforts at threats for what they are.
One day you'll be through this and life will be peaceful. And even before that you'll go and buy those boots that started it all: and whether or not they're "f*** me" boots, you can get them with the money you once would have given your mum, and call them your "f*** you!" boots!

You guys make my day - well after my children and hubby;)
Love the boots though:T
Ever since Sam was born - every six months or so I have typed him a letter, telling him all the things hes done, hes learnt, his funny little ways, the ways he has made me laugh, how much my love has grown for him, how clever he is, how proud of him we are etc etc and have printed the all out, put them away in a box with the dates written on so that when he is older he has a record of his growing up. At first it started because I had PND and then continued to this day. I have already written Mollies first letter and that has been put away too. I have no intention of giving them to them until they leave home (which hopefully will be never) but what do you guys think - when I write Sam's next letter should I write whats happened with my Mum, whats she like etc, what shes done? Or should I just let him find out for himself. At the moment he can see no wrong in her apart from that she never tells him off and always wants kisses and cuddles and he does love her but in years to come I don't want it to come back and bite my on my bottom so to speak and him hate me for not being honest with him. I love the fact that he is so innocent but it does worry me.
Would appreciate your advice if you dont mind of couse.................0
