Do you know what well, that made me laugh aswell.
I don't want you to feel sorry for her or anything but I actually do pity her. She has some real deep underlying issues going on. Not that it excuses her behaviour for a second.
But well done on the way you reacted by laughing aswell. You have seen the light so to speak.
If you haven't torn it to shreads already, perhaps you should pin it next to the words kath suggested where you sounded so bloody determined.
Good on you hun! :T0 -
Oh Weller! I have been off sick with flu all week, feeling sorry for myself & fed up! First day I feel like checking out the site & I find your thread - stopped feeling pathetic now! You have come such a long way in a short time & should be very proud. You hubby & son sound fab & I know your little girl will grow up the same. You are a great mum & lovely wife.
Be strong - you do not need your mother in your life & keep in mind when all her secrects come tumbling out it was all her doing not yours.
You concentrate on your lovely family. As said before, tuck any evidence away "just in case" & call her bluff, tell her to go to solicitors, social services etc show her you are not scared or intimidated.
Let us all know how you are doing coz we all care & want to know you are ok. :grouphug:NEVER ASSUME! :rolleyes:0 -
PLease keep that letter and unless they have been sent into the cyber planet of permanently deleted, can you get your DH to print out the emails. I then suggest you keep them in a file, so if she does ever stir up any trouble anywhere you have those to back you up.
To be quite honest I would be scared to leave your son with her, if she thinks you will be taking him away from her theres no telling in her sick mind what she will do.
At worst you are £200 a month better off and the time you would of wasted on her visits you could try and get out and mix with people or stay on here with us!

Just read this thread. I am so impressed with your courage, and I think you are a wonderful mother. So glad you have a supportive partner to help you through this.0

Like everyone else has said - she doesn't have a leg to stand on as grandparents have NO legal rights to access unless they are a legal guardian. Plus, should she 'try and take it further' then you could always stand there and say how she was extorting £200 a month from you via blackmail, plus spill her secrets!
The journey you've been on since starting this thread is incredible, and it's so wonderful to hear you sounding positive.
BTW - if your mum starts pestering you by phone, you can bar individual numbers through BT & the caller just gets a recorded message saying that you don't want to speak to themTotal Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

Hi Weller, I'm so glad to hear you sounding so strong (I know you might feel a bit wobbly inside, but keep going, you are doing brilliantly).
I really hope that taking control of this terrible situation in the way that you have done will be the first step towards recovery from the depression you have been suffering. Don't get disheartened if you don't feel fantastic straight away though, these things take time, and sometimes you have to feel worse before you can feel better.
I have to also confess to a little chuckle at your Mum's 'PS' - your reaction (to feel pity rather than fear or anger) is spot on. I hope eventually that your Mum gets the help she needs, but that's not for you to worry about at the moment.
You might not believe this (as I know your self esteem is low at times) but you are an inspiration. Keep posting and we will support you through the bad days and cheer you on through the good ones.

anger is the right response to that letter. last week I think you might have reacted differently. keep it as evidence just in case.
