Weller, well done to you for reacting so strongly!! That letter really would be funny ...ok, I did have a little chuckle... if it wasn't so awful. Your mum has a very warped view of things and seems to say anything, no matter how insulting, to try to get you down and be in control of you. Seriously though, well done for seeing it all for the ridiculously desperate attempt it is, it must still be hard but you are sounding so strong! :T

  • Well, she was doing the menacing thing so well ... until she wrote the PS.

I take it you've packed Samuel's overnight bag then?

Well, its funny you should say that - at approx 6pm tonight I was changing Mollies bottom and the phone rang .........................Sam answered it.............. and yes, you've guessed it - it was Mum, I shouted to Samuel not to answer but he did and I heard him talking to her - I couldn't tell him to hang up so I let him continue but the stupid, evil woman only had the nerve to ask him if he wanted to sleep, I couldn't believe it (well, I could really) and then had to think on my feet so to speak so when he asked me if he could I said as a special treat we were all going to the Wacky Warehouse for tea so he changed his mind very quickly about wanting to sleep thank goodness.

The cheek of the woman - have now called BT and asked for a service which enables you to barr certain numbers from calling and that will take effect within 24 hours.

Anyway, not very true MSE but we went to the Wacky Warehouse as I couldn't say he then couldn't go but we had a lovely time and we just ordered the cheapest meal but Sam enjoyed himself and is worn out and Mollie just giggled all the time - shes never been before and had lots of fun crawling about. So apologies for not sticking to the DFW but we really didn't have a choice - will cut back some other way though - promise:o
  • Oh by the way shes cancelled her trip to Barcelona as she can't afford it so she told Sam so she wanted him to stop all weekend - she never ceases to amaze me and I think she told him so he'd tell me then I'd feel guilty but you know what - I don't:D

Umm let me see...£200 - wacky warehouse spend £30ish = £170 saved. Worth every penny!

As you've been without the £200 a month for so long, if you promised Sam Wacky Warehouse every month, you'd still be in profit.

  • Wow. I've not posted on this thread before but have been following it. I think you've handled the whole week amazingly well, with dignity and class and you should be mighty proud of yourself!

And I echo the above: it's not always about the money. Am celebrating handing in one essay with a cool drink and some curling tongs I've wanted for aaages!!!

Sounds like a brilliant night out and I hope you'll all do it again soon!

    Weller,

We had to change our phone number in the end. My MiL used to ring when she knew the kids were home from school. We got sick of ignoring the phone, and missing calls from people we actually wanted to talk to.

Most phone companies will change the number for free, in cases of nuisance calls. Done forget to bar any mobile / work numbers she could ring from.

  • Hi Lisa. Just checking in to see how you're doing.

I couldn't *believe* what I read when I saw the letter from your Mum. She really does need some help, this really isn't right. But I did burst out laughing when I saw the "PS" though.....

It's not funny really, I know it isn't, in fact it's disturbing. Please do keep the letter - as others say, along with any other communication that she may send. One day you might need it - maybe for her own good too.

As for the Wacky Warehouse, well good on you. As dogrose said, sometimes it ain't about the money!

Stay strong, hug your family lots (I know you will anyway) - and hold on tight! Your Mum's going to try and make it a bumpy ride before this is all over , but you can and will get through it.
