I agree DDFW, I hope you get to take some time out and chill. I was thinking the other day, how I quite often say I'm going to do nothing for a day, and then wind up being more productive, as I take the pressure off myself. Sometimes though, I will actually do nothing, and then have a nice relaxed day where I do what I want to do rather than what I feel like I should be doing.

It seems to be quite hard to do absolutely nothing for the day, much as you'd like to. Harder when you have kids to feed/washing to do etc.

We are not going away on holidays this year due to having no money. :p But I was thinking about what I enjoy about being on holidays and what I could replicate at home. One thing about holidays is getting up and having nothing much to do, or nothing I HAVE to do. So some days on holidays, I might end up reading a book all day on a sun lounger. I decided I could replicate that at home. So I am definitely going to plan some 'holiday' days this summer, when I do pretty much nothing or else pretty much what I like, all day. :j

I'm not sure, I think I need to refocus. I'm not really getting anywhere at the moment, and am just paying off and then spending the same money again :o

I need to review everything and see where I can get things on an even keel again, and start debtbusting properly.

But your POAMAYC 2012 = £7108 in your sig - does that not represent money paid off this year? Sounds pretty impressive to me.

    Hi all

jwil eb*y ? I dunno the address i used was from the order details button if that makes sense ? I've still not replied to the person as yet - once i know if this is the address where i don't need to sort anything out i will but i've had a totally carp day at work and am all tearful just now! Probably doesn;t help / or maybe it will ? that i've just decided to pour out a situation thats been on my mind on my thread :o One of those things where i'm not really sure what to feel / think / how to respond to a situation if that makes ? I've probably come across as a jealous, possessive woman :o :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: but i needed to get it out of my system so i have :o

I'm with peaceandfreedom that you have paid off a sizable chunk which is brilliant but i am not sure if you are in the situation i was in a couple of years back? What i'd paid off was not what the debt was reducing by due to interest so my balances were barely altering and then i had no emergency funds so had to increase balances to cover necessary bills. We will all get there with everything hon xx and if you're claiming ppi that'll be a fab boost for you xx

peaceandfreedom - love how you are capturing the holiday experience at home - that'll be fab i actually would really like to spend some time off work and at home - we've actually booked our next hols and go away quite soon  *a hazard of having a fella who has no idea of the debt i am in :o* Still the money was there for the holiday itself its the spends i need to sort out so i'd better sell a heck of alot next month or i may be going hungry whilst away :eek::eek:

And relaxing / chilling - i am still finding this hugely hard to do :o i could lose myself in a book for hours or days in the past but my mind won't switch off and focus just now - maybe when i've got some of the stuff cleared thats bogging me down eh ?

I was very good today :) and as i had to write things down in my spending diary i did not go to the shops at lunch time for cake *my comfort food* i did 'spend' money on my PAD for the day and on transport - no other means of getting to work so i class today as a NSD :T:T

HI nice to see you again :) x

Nope, that's how much I've spent servicing the debt this year, not how much it's reduced by :(

That will be the ebay address. I always get the address by going through 'view paypal transaction'. It's required for paypal protection that you use the address in there. It's probably the same though, but it's worth checking.

I haven't paid off a lot though - I've spent a lot servicing the debt, but haven't reduced it. Yes, the situation you mention is it - interest and not having any emergency fund or spare cash. I've put in a claim for ppi, but have no idea whether it will be successful or how much it will be. I'm not convinced I will get anything back, but if I do anything will be welcome.

That's what I find - I don't tend to do nothing, but because I've taken the pressure off, I actually achieve more because I don't *have* to do anything. It makes the day much more pleasant.

There's nothing like just sitting for the day with a nose in a book though :D

Hey all - jwil thanks for the advice - i've checked and both addresses are the same. I will reply to the person and i will try and help them out with it as i do tend to but it does get to me sometimes because i am so skint anything like this happening (even though its for less than £20) creates a massive financial stress for me :o

If your situation is the same as mine was i felt like i was treading water with the debt ( i didn't have any loans though so there was no end date in sight on any of the debts) With your loan you know in x amount of time it will all be gone so that is fab. Something will happen though for you where you start moving forwards with the debt and i think you ppi claim could be just the thing - i know you said you don't know if you'll get anything back but do you know how much you did pay for it ? Obviously on here i've seen that people have got thousands back - i am keeping my fingers crossed that a nice big cheque comes your way hon :D Do let us know how you go on with it xx

I also think i owe more on my mortgage than you :o in fact definitely unless you have split your mortgage down in your sig for just your half and then mr jwils half isn't showing. i am currently trying to manage the pressure of this - hence the massive pushing on the debt right now.

What i have done this month is paid any extra income straight to debt so if i've sold something once the moneys in its paid off straight away. Its something i pretty much do all the time as if the money gets left it disappears

And i have been thinking its thursday but its not its wednesday - which means i have more days to go in work than i thought :(

Ooh whilst i remember has anyone seen any decent cashback offers of late ?

I see. That seems an awful lot of money just to service debt. Is it because you are sending money to pay debts but then paying for things on credit and therefore building the overall debt back up?

On my debt spreadsheet, I have a running total down the right-hand side which is the current overall debt. I subtract this from the debt at the end of December to arrive at my POAMAYC 2012 figure. So thankfully for me, my total is actually debt paid off. I am not paying any interest on any debt though.

I agree that you need a re-think and a re-focus. Perhaps you need to pay the minimum towards your debts for a while and use your ebay money to build up an emergency fund. Then you can take the option to never use credit for any further expenditure.
