Hope you're doing some fun things, Greying - we all need it in our lives
Howdy All!!! - back to reality/normalityaka 'home again'
You bet we did some fun things KC. Mind you, we're ingrained MSE'ers so what we regard as 'fun' might well be regarded as 'boring' by a whole swathe of the non-MSE populus!
Highlights however included; tucking into a gorgeous (even thought I say so myself) asparagus risotto, made with British asparagus and accompanied by some rather smashing British wine; venturing to a nearby market town by double-decker bus - on the top deck - woo hoo! taking in the cultural delights of the farmers market and an art exhibition (must tell Pippi about it, it so supports the message about plastic pollution in our oceans), scoring BIG in a number of charity shops and last but not least, walking until our feet dropped off!

Greying did you see me on the end of the pier of noisiness waving? And, did you spot the paddling??
Yep, did spot you! 3 people did actually turn to see who I was waving too so enthusiastically, and were obviously a bit perplexed to see....umm the sea, but hey!Missed the paddling though
Must of been when I wandered off to look at some uber posh 'apartments' on the seafront. Given that a wooden 'chalet' (aka a large old, garden shed) was on the market for £200k - and that was some distance from the quayside, I think the apartments might of been somewhat out of my league! But looking (from the outside) is free.........
Glad you had a smashing time and kept to within budget - we did too, so the 'treats' jar has some pennies left in it for the next time.
LT - put me down for one of the first cases of your 'estate bottled' maple syrup - we love the stuff, and are always keen to support british produce
*waves* to everyone else - you've all been really busy this weekend - feel a bit guilty wagging off on hols!!

Pippilongstocking wrote: »Eh up lt, now wonder you were confused, sycamores are acers, they're all in the same genus and basically the same thing, like keiss said. Great help there Keiss, I'd never be brave enough to give a cultivar name, just a ball park idea, well done you!
From a photo no one can really Identify your lovely tree down to a specific cultivar or variety properly (not even Sir Alan of the titchmarch) hybrids are so specific but a rough ball park is that it's definitely a purple/red leaved big maplely acery tree which is wonderful isn't it. And that's so cool.
You sure you haven't moved to Canada?
Sorry about the syrup! X
Not home yet, homewards though......l
I had a great time at the singing workshop yesterday...and I did indeed lose my voice!!! The workshop was from 10 to 4pm, and around 3pm I started to squeak, rather than sing, then the voice went completely!! I whispered all evening and took copious quantities of honey (yuk!)...so I would have a bit of a voice for the invigilating today. Luckily I didn't have to talk much today, but still croaky now, so downing the honey again and back to whispering.
A friend is visiting tomorrow, so she will have to do all the talking (not hard!). I am working in the shop on Wednesday and back invigilating on Thursday. I'm most worried about working in the shop on my own (possibly with a helper for some of the time) on Saturday. Hopefully I will be getting back to normal by then surely!?!
Need to get something sorted for tea now, have a good evening everyone. x

Hey up all
Keiss - hope you get your voice back soon! Sounds like you had fun. Acers are very confusing aren't they as there are hundreds of different species never mind the hybrids arghghghghgh- was the first genus we studied - so confusing!!!!!
LT - one day me dear, one day.greying I'm glad you had fun too! Sounds like you had fun! And, of course looking at stuff is free.
