I'm good thank-you!
How are you? I hope your op has been helpful. I miss your diary!
I'm trying to get a tighter reign on my finances at the mo (so I have a chance to make my MFiT-2 challenge target in Dec) so I've been back on MSE a little more. I pop in every so often to prod my poor neglected diary back to life again and [STRIKE]lurk[/STRIKE] catch up with folks diaries though!
Ooh Hi taka  - could i ask a question pleasewhat is MFiT ? i've seen it a bit and always wondered. Plus i *will* be starting to overpay the mortgage this year and have peeked at a couple of the mortgage threads but it seems a bit different from the comfy place of debt free diaries
Hope everyone else is well
In cheery news i'm off to ring up about some sewing lessons :j:j:j - not done any for years and really want to get back into it.
With the crochet classes i did i hadn't done that for years either - we only did the basics and i'd only done the basics before and it came back really quickly so hoping this will be the sameCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
I'm good thanks, taka - sorry I closed the diary! Twas the only sensible thing to do, to be honest.
I saw the consultant for my shoulder op last week, and he was really pleased at my range of movement, I'm ahead of the curve apparentlyI need more strength! But I have to go back to check on the other end of the clavicle - the swelling there can be *seen*, as opposed to the other one, which was an internal swelling (thats why the bone was pressing on a tendon, yeuch!).
Otherwise, I'm pottering along - very pleased at the end of last tax year that I managed to put some money into an isa - didn't want to put it in a pension right now, as I thought the market was due a fall, its gone down about 300 points so far ... and along with dozens of stamps, and a refund from my energy company, life is going well!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Morning all
Didn't get back on here yesterday went in a whoosh!
We had tea out which was nice but not up to the usual standard and Aunty C's lamb shanks were highly superior to those which were eaten out but it was nice to dress up and go out!
Hope you're all good - today inbetween driving snow and blinding sunshine again I'm cleaning up
Thanks for Uni's Stardrops!
I'm starting on the living room - window cleaning 13 windows......eek!
Hope you're all splendid - off to catch up on what you've been upto

Ooh Pippi, a new-style blogsite, loving it!! Glad you are feeling better too xx
Glad taka was able to help you about posting links KC...perfect advice.
Not been on the 'puter for a bit, been fighting a bug, which has been affecting my chest and breathing since Wednesday. Hardly slept on Friday night, coughing all the time, so spent most of last night in my chair...not much sleep again. At least it isn't quite so painful to cough today, though it still hurts
Sorry, shouldn't be feeling so sorry for myself, just so shattered and frustrated at not getting all the things done that I want to do.
Moan over, off to try and get some sewing and knitting done.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone xxx

Hi DDFW hope you don't mind me delurking and butting in? I'm in the MFi3 challenge which runs until Dec this year. Although it stands for 'Mortgage Free in Three' you don't actually need to aim to be MF, you can aim to get your mortgage down to an amount you choose in the three years which is what I've done. I've found it a very supportive challenge and everyone tries to remember to report their current balance every three months via Google docs and then it gets put on a spread sheet type thingy with various colums by someone who understands these things . I believe there will probably be another challenge starting after this one finishes so look out for that if you want to join.
There's also a thread of the same name but most folk in the challenge including myself, also have their own MFW diary. It seems quieter over there at the moment with quite a few new diaries being established and a couple of well established ones have disappeared for various reasons. Its a supportive and friendly board I've found - perhaps not as busy as this lovely diary for instance but give it a go.

Hi teapot2  lovely of you to delurk and answer my query thank-you
And i really like your username too
My target this year is to be debt free by my birthday (in the latter part of the year) and also pay off an extra £6000 off my mortgage this year as well  I'll actually be overpaying on the mortgage before i'm debt free for various reasons
I'll definitely look out then for the challenge at the start of next year - i already know i'm aiming to overpay by £18,000 a year  Which is significantly more than my wages even before tax  So i'll really need to be getting my thinking cap on
I really want to start paying this mortgage off now! But at the moment the debt is taking priority
Thinking positively i'll look forward to joining you on the MFW challenge and boards next year
Hope everyone else is wellCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Sounds good DDFW, we also started overpaying before being debt free though never had a DFW diary. There are lots of useful hints and tips about over paying etc on the board and its amazing the difference even small OPs can make. Once the daily interest starts to go down it can get addicitve though - you have been warned :rotfl:.
I'll look out for you over there  good luck on getting debt free too0 -
Keiss, you sound really ill
sitting up in your chair most of the night definitely deserves a moan. You're right, taka was great, wasn't she! I'll be working on that today.
DDFW, can I ask how you're going to overpay more than your gross wage? Do you mean from all the extra dfw stuff like mystery shopping and wotnot? Cos I'd really like to know how to do that ....
I *did* open a little bit of an isa to go towards my pension, which felt great. Day to day living takes up about 95% of my income at the mo, but I'm seriously thinking of making regular savings into a pension pot a priority right now, "paying myself first", as the saying goes.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Whole day wombling and gardening in gorgeous sunshine - collapses in heap!
