Hi Everyone
Pippi - glad you didn't mind the above chatter (i meant to put on sorry for taking over your thread). Hope the parcel got to you ok? I forgot to put my thread name on the card i includedposted to you on Thursday so if its not there now hopefully it should be some time soon
I should have posted on here, and ended up putting it all into a message to pippiThat i may well be joining some of you in Patchwork Living
I'm both
and  about this as the initial move will be going from a full time job and full time wages to a part-time job and the equivalent drop in salary  Basically i am in a job that involves a 3 hour commute for a basic wage - tiring in itself especially as i get home very late most days and the job itself drains me of all energy. I've been looking for a new job for a while and have now made the decision that as most of the jobs that come up that i'd like to do are only offering part-time hours then i am going to apply for these - really hope i am successful - obviously if a full-time job popped up i'd apply for this too
Anyways i'd then need to get another job so patchwork living
The jobs i'd like to do are jobs that have a real positive impact on the environment / really help people / help the community
Hey KCI just love saying / typing that
- Well the initial potential drop to part-time hours could truly scupper some of my plans but as the MFW is for next year lets see: -
£18,000 extra - ooh it sounds such a big figure when i pop it down like that  But i do indeed have a cunning plan which does involve the below
Firstly job-change - to either 1 f/t or 2 (or more) p/t jobs - the total income will be higher than my current income and the extra money i earn above what i'm on now will go straight to the mortgage. *If* i was unfortunate enough not to get a new job in the next 8months  i'll be working my butt off to get a bonus which i'm on target for and again this will go towards this. But positive thinking i'll be in my new happier job
Secondly - set-up of business which can all be managed in my spare time- trying to get the main income stream in place first before i carry on with this. Already run my own business in the past whilst working full-time as well so am all up to date with tax stuff and have a very real understanding of the hours and commitment this will involve
Mystery Shopping
Cashback
Surveys - have really whittled down what i spend my time on now though
The amount i currently pay to debt as an overpayment
Usual frugal living
Overpayments already budgetted for
*Also* there may be a chance of a 3rd self-employed job on a partnership basis - basically awaiting details from the other partner but it *will* involve doing something i really love :j:j:j and would actually love to do full-timeAnd its what i actually enjoy doing as a hobby
This probably won't be until towards the end of next year so the plan would be to have my employed job in place, then my own business and then this. Because this is currently reliant on the other party - as realistically i can only commit a certain amount of time to this - i have not accounted for any income from this until its more definite.
I have written out my MFW plan for next year- mostly so i could gather all my ideas together in one place
, i've also written most of my business plan and have a time plan for the business too
There will be alot of working hours - its something i'm used to but also, fortunately both self-employed jobs will be doing stuff i enjoy as well as hopefully the emplyed job/sAnd the push for MFW is so that i don't have to earn so much in the future to cover the mortgage along with other bills and this will give me more choices

Firslty Parcel arrived yesterday - silly postman put in on the drums so I didn't see it so I'm sorry for not noticing it until nowthank you very much for the pockets - perfect to recycle a whole heap of stuff with!
As for the contribution to diary - dont' apologise at all - very good to see where you're at - wow you've really thought all that out haven't you. I can see why a three hour commute would kill you - not fun!
Patchworking appears to be a really favourable way of working if you can swing it - leaving lots of time for other things - or thats the theory.
I'm really enjoying it to be honest and it sounds like you will too.
How lovely you might also have a cunning plan int he background of something you really love - how utterly brilliant.
You sound like with the planning/tax experience etc you're really hitting hte ground running - whilst dropping from f/t wage is scary sounds like you've got it sussed!
Off to check my messages as I can't look at them on the work computer as some bits of mse don't work!

I'm so glad you're a bit better - kids at airport hotel currently not answering their phone!
I'm picking them up later today - yippee - although all I'm going to do is put them straight to school!
Weathers vile here - having been gorgeous yesterday (hence working til gone 8pm) - today its utterly revolting (50mph wind and sideways slush)

I *did* open a little bit of an isa to go towards my pension, which felt great. Day to day living takes up about 95% of my income at the mo, but I'm seriously thinking of making regular savings into a pension pot a priority right now, "paying myself first", as the saying goes.
Oh how exciting - I'm going to do the same too now that I've got my extra day at womble central and a bit of regular gardening going on.
I've no pension aside my state one  so I need to fathom that out - until I do (having been given very good advice) I'm going to put it in an isa until I fathom out what on earth to do.

Hi DDFW hope you don't mind me delurking and butting in?
Its a supportive and friendly board I've found - perhaps not as busy as this lovely diary for instance but give it a go.
Thank you so much for helping DDFW out - much appreciate it and thanks for being so kind about my currently neglected (by me) diary!

Oh dear I'm wittering on this mornig aren't I?
Today - hmmm - pick up squidlets at 11AM
Weather is shocking so I need some indoor activities to sort myself out - paperwork and a bit of invoicing I think. I've various gardens to invoice in various states of completion!
I might actually do some sowing of seeds as thats an indoor thing and a bit of prep for my gardening class too!
Hope you're all upto something fun today xTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Morning Pippi
Indoor work sounds like a very good plan. Weather here is horrid too, wind and heavy rain.
I'm thinking of applying for a job I've just come across in a garden centre, part-time although I'm not sure I fancy working outside in bad weather....

How exciting - most garden centres tend to be quiet when the weathers bad - so you might land lucky - they dont' tend to make you stand out in the rain!
I don't think I can do anything but indoor work today - tried to go out and could hardly open the door!
I think we'll cozy up by the fire eh?
