Hey up all
Sorry to post and dash - waves to you all - event on today on another island - which will be fun, so not caught up a bit to do before I leave this am!
Hope you're all good - lovely to see you all on here.
VL - hope the wine was good! The dress material sounds gorgeous!
Starnac how is the dress coming.....?? Not long til your big party! Good for you shuffling the freezer about - ha we have a lot of 'freezer surprizes' here too! I think we'll all think - oh I'll remember it - defrosted pasta sauce the other day (so I thought) turned out to be roasted pepper soup lol!
Cheery - a frock, me I know - how decadent eh? Mr F went all wibbly at the knees - bless him! Thank goodness the kids weren't here as they would have laughed! 35 a week is a lot to chuck out isn't it. Mainly they reckon its perishables which are quite high value I guess. We make up a shoppping basket for events with the amount folk throw out (on average and I don't think we are average - in a nice way) - it fills a basket - and they reckon £8-9 a week is normal chuckeryoutery for food - not in our houses but in other houses. Quite scary and you're all quite right thats more than most of our shopping budgets.
Greying I worry about throwing away 35p's worth too - lovely to see you lady! Willows were saved as I was off making rockets for work and got carried away til it got too dark to cut willow. Must try and do it later (and yes I did really say making air rockets for work, not fun you understand, work, ahem, honest) [plastic tubing, a pop bottle and a rolled up magazine - add gaffa tape and a lot of woo hoo'ing - when they went over the byre roof, its pure science here you understand - photos to follow!]
KK glad you had a nice snuggly time with DD - I've just found a bit of cooked and 'unwell' cauliflower in the fridge - thank goodness for hens - eek to your freezer but phew it wasn't anything too bad.
Piq - you are very sensible indeed - we're all quite versed in Martins philosophy's aren't we - makes sense to pay the higher card - I don't know why I'd wrote that off - a bit focussed on the OD I guess! Hope you have a great day - we only do numbers occasionally here but I feel more in control of my 'pay rise' knowing it will take care of the stinky tax etc.

Sounds fun, you mentioned on my thread about a brochure..............not sure what that's about but I haven't received anything and could possibly be barking up the wrong tree.......
Have a great day.

glad you've got further on your decision on how to use the 0% allowance.
we've been having some freezer surprise as well. i defrosted what i thought was bolognase sauce for some pasta i'd cooked and it turned out to be beef stew. I really must get the hang of labeling things lol0 -
Afternoon all, ooh rockets, that does sound fun!!!
Had to make an emergency trip to the dentists this morning as a filling on the side of one of my front teeth was loose. Nearly a hour in there and a "few" pennies lighter, I emerged with a fat lip and a spanking new filling. I then went on to do a bit of shopping...we had run out of bread and were on our last 4 pints of milk this morning...leaving things a bit fine even for us! Aching a bit now the anaesthetic has worn off, so having a rest before getting back to all the things I should have been doing this morning.
Talking of dresses, I managed to pick up a lovely summery one in a CS this morning. It is a bit roomy on me, but a nice belt will sort that. Assuming I ever lose all the weight I need to, then I can see this dress then being made into bags/cushions etc...pretty good for less than a fiver, and such lovely material too!
Right, off to sort out some more IT work...don't really feel like it now, no real rush, so might go and look at my to-do list and make headway with other things on it. Strange how a trip out has taken all my oomph away
Hope you are all well and surfacing after the holiday-fest that was Easter.
I have my trial-day at the sewing shop tomorrow, so should check I have all I need (bank/tax details etc; and ofcourse a packed lunch). Also need to do a bit of ironing...soooo much to do!!!!

Keiss, I'm not surprised your oomph got up and went away after an emergency trip to the dentist! It always amazes me that people go for a filling and carry on completely as normal - it wipes me out completely.
Hope all are well - I'm back at work, pottering in the garden, and really, really wishing I wasn't working any more. Needs must, hey? Better get some brekkie now.
Ooh, and I've seen in Martin's latest newsletter that Premier Inn have a sale starting this morning ... I'm very tempted to go for a quick trip, since my holiday before Easter turned out to be such a washout ...2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Quick - not supposed to be on sale till 9am :whistle:A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Morning all. Can't believe how nice it is here after Monday!! Not much planned here today to be honest. We are still in our pyjamas and no plans to get dressed yet. Got quite a few things to do today. May even pop out to the garden if we do get dressed. DD's homework over the holidays is to make a scrapbook about her garden so we may go out and take some pictures of her in the garden. Got some onions that need planting and some other bits and bobs.
My dress is coming on nicely. Need to sew the top together tonight. My mask just needs feathers attaching which I will do today and I even painted an old pair of shoes last night the same colour as my dress so I've got a "new" pair of shoes for free as I'd already got the paint. Talk about recycling!
