Yay to more chickens :) and double yay to a peedie pup!! What a journey though, you must be a world class super-dooper gardener, wish you lived here!

I appear to have knackered my stupid leg again by doing about 5 spades' worth of digging in the veggie patch yesterday to take out some weeds before considering what seeds to sow, with my lovely new spade (and I tried the hoe but not the fork yet), I think I need to rethink my desire to grow veggies and probably look into a garden share scheme.

I went to bed with my super-strength painkillers and woke up very sore about half an hour ago and needed my crutches to get to the bathroom and back, double beggar it :(:(

Oh well, guess I'll never learn! I had such a great day yesterday, a friend took me out to town to get a few bits, which happened to include rose wine and pizzas for us and our various children, then after school, they came down to mine and we sat in the garden and nattered whilst the kids ran around like crazed things, then her OH arrived and we all had a glass or two, ate pizza and chatted. It was lovely :)
  • Maty I know a new puppy wont' that be exictign if it comes off!

I shouldn't be allowed out! I only went by the mans house (the dog breeder) to ask if there might be any puppies later in the year and out one tumbled from behind the byre door - the size of a small cat.

The ferry's here aren't cal mac - they are just named after the islands. The new chooks are light sussex (white and black speckled) - which will be a new colour in my lovley range of chooks - I'm letting htem out later.

I'm not a sooperdooper gardener - I only do work for a few folk - but I have to say I'm enjoying it and despite the rate being quite high - folk don't appear to blink an eyeball. SO I hope it will be a nice balance

KK what a lovely day it sounds like you had too!

I'm off to get ready for work!

  • I'm also feeling very guilty about being here on MSE and having regular money coming in - I know that was the goal but it still feels so strange to have lots of hours work and money I know will be coming in.

I guess for such a long time we've survived on so little money (whilst studying) that I'd never thought I'd get a job I love and get paid for it too.

So I'm feeling a bit wierd - I know moneys still tights and I've debts to pay off and I'm still doign all the reduced shopping etc - but I'm not maybe talking about it much as its now our way of life.

I should be back on the small things thread! That changed my life and I met you lovely lot!!!!!

    :)

I'll stop twittering now - I know I shouldn't feel guilty for working but I do somehow.

Debts need paying off though thats for sure - so I'll need to focus on that very much.

Paid £200 to penguin face - gesture more than anything - haven't paid him anything for about 100 years. I know its a 0% loan but he will need it back.

CC's need to check them and if I've tiem today to do a PAD I will.

    Enough of my rambling!

Off outside to pick some daffodils for work to sell at a spring fair and on site.

You shouldn't feel guilty about working and being on DFW, many people are here and working. Debts are not just for the unemployed or students!

Can't wait to hear how Peedie dog gets on with Peedie pup :D

Need to rethink my chookie names in the light of recent updates :rotfl:

Ooh, lots of new things for Pippi: island visit; gardening; chooks; plants and a puppy...how wonderful!! :j Hope Peedie and the pup get on fine...what on earth are you going to call the peedie pup that is so much peedier than Peedie?!!!! :rotfl:

Not done any weeding today yet, though I have moved more plants out of the greenhouse and watererd everything well...the downside of the warmer weather is the increase in watering. :o Also got some more work done on my fabric pictures...really pleased with what I've ddone soo far, still lots more to do though!

Picked up a James Grieve apple tree from M0rri$ons on Wednesday and want to plant it today. It has been sitting in a bucket of water and some of it's buds have almost busrt open already!! It will go against the 45 degree cane I already have set up, to grow alongside the other four cheap/free apple trees I got last year. I am training them as cordons, so I'll be able to grow lots of apples in quite a small space. Hope to pick a few aples this year :D

Lunch is ready, so having that, then will do some more sewing/fabric painting, then off out into the garden :j:j:j.

Oh we got our new pulley up in the conservatory this morning too...looking wonderful, can't wait to use it!!! :D:D:D

Have a lovely weekend everyone xxx

Pictures of the new pup - Haggis

8 week red brindle x wheaten cairn terrier (KC registered) - Mr Pippi got him for me for working so hard and Not being a Dr of Flowers.

As he was less than the price of a greenhouse - Mr Pippi is quite pleased.

He's had a bath and a walk doon the trak to the beach but we didn't go on there. He can barely get over the middle ridge of grass on the track without it looking like he's climbing mount everest.

At £200 for a KC dog - I guess thats money saving of sorts as 'sooth' they are double the price.

The poor wee man is smaller than my shoe and I'm a size 3-4.

Seriously cute, but cryign in his little pen down in the utility room - I'm going to soothe him every wee while but he's now in bed.

Thanks for the good wishes guys! You forget why you work so hard at uni sometimes. Seriously busy day at the womble HQ, which was great.

My new contract came through and I'm upto 25hrs a week from April - we will be open more often so my days will be more regular and that will make life a bit more balanced.

    :)

Hope you've all had good days.

    xx
