Apple stuff does not need to be discounted much so they don't offer much discount to anyone.
There are quite a few places that get an employee discount but the discount isn't much, I get a few % off through work (about a tenner I think on the base model) and thats it. It's often actually better for me to use Quidco than use works discount links for Apple.
The bigger question is would it arrive in time.
There are 4 days to Xmas, postage isn't an option soon (even special delivery) so you need to buy now and hope they arrive. Buy from Apple tommorow and they say it will arrive by the 24th but that offer ends tommorow.
Most places have stock now but that could change over the next few days as people buy up stock. No-one is likely to do a discount for cash on collection as they know they'll sell regardless of cost, and if Apple find out they could find it hard to get more stock.0 -

If the extra is an issue at the moment Apple do 0% interest over 10 months over £429
Does not make it cheaper but may make it easier to buy them direct.0 -

but Sold Out within a day on the 15th.
Your best bet is ebay.0 -
Unless you can get cashback through cashback websites, you wont get an ipad any cheaper than the Apple store will sell it (unless it is stolen/second hand/refurb). It's not that Apple don't discount, they do for students, Police, NHS (i believe - could be wrong!), but they set a price and insist on that.
If you cant find any cashback offers for a store that may sell them, buy online and claim nectar points through Amazon, Play or the Apple website (go to nectar.com first and go through there) and get a tiny return on your purchase, in the form of a few points0 -
Your best bet would be to look at the cashback sites. I have just bought a 32gb 3g ipad 2 from Tesco. I got £25 cashback from Quidco and £23 worth of clubcard points. Retail price was £579 and I saved £48 on that. Of course that is before I exchange the clubcard points for 2x instore or 4x in deals, making the real savings much more.
Unfortunately the extra clubcard points deal has ended now but you may find somewhere with higher cashback. I believe Viking Direct were offering 9% cashback through quidco.
Viking actually offers 2% cashback on Apple products through Quidco. Nearly fell for their 9% advertising0 -
They were selling entry level ipads for £399 in my local Tesco on monday (19th Dec)0

I just bought mine through our staff discount incentive website (the suppl;ier is Comet) and we get !0% off ALL purchases from there.
iPad2 at £399 = £3600
