Help buying an iPad 2 as cheap as possible

Hi I'm new to the forum, sorry if this isn't the correct section but could anybody give me some advice on how I can purchase two iPad 2's before Christmas?
I was relying on them being picked up by a friend who visited New York recently but he couldn't get them.
If anybody knows of any vouchers, discounts, or good deals please let me know as soon as.
Thanks

£365 is closer to the price I was hoping to pay although if possible I would like to find a way to reduce the cost. I was initially planning to have spent £645 on two of them from the States, so to now be priced at £800 it is a big step up at this time of the year.

Looks like the OP has joined the forum just to find a cheap iPad!

They have chosen GetMeAniPad as their screen name :D

What happens after they have bought an iPad - they never use the forum again?

It's funny how people can't use their name, or something else. You see many people just creating an account with the name that they want the answer for!
If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button! ;)
  • I have actually just thought about that. Is it not possible to edit a screen name? If not I will have to make another account because I don't want to keep it as this forever, I was just creating the account and couldn't think of a name.

You will struggle to find anything much cheaper to be honest unless a refurb or second hand.

You're not going to get an brand new iPad 2 for £330. Apple set the price and theres not much room to offer discounts so unless you're happy with buying 2nd/refurbed you'll have to keep saving!

Yes. Buy direct from an Apple Store, so you can check the iPad for dead pixels whilst you are in the shop. Both iPads I have bought had one 1/3 dead pixel (and both were replaced there and then in the shop by another new one).

What are the iPads going to be used for? 16GB wouldn't be anywhere near enough for me, I've got 50GB used currently on mine and that's without any films or music on it, just apps.
  • Do they not all come with a one-year Apple warranty regardless of store?
If they are able to be sold for profit in America at £320ish is there no way to get one around that price using vouchers/discounts at any stores?

Does that £320 in the US include state sales taxes? I suspect not. If you import from the US then you will have to pay on top; import duty, VAT and a handling charge for the processing. Not such a bargain after that.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
