Surely we can't possibly need more apartments in this country? When will developers realise that people in N.I. want decent-sized houses with gardens? We're not London or some Eastern European ex-communist state...0

Yep, and her husband owns Bloomfields.0

Ah, you are referring to the trophy wife who is listed as a director of the company that owns it. Doubt if she could build a sandcastle at the moment never mind apartments from what I hear! Her husband doesn't own Blooomfields, he is a director in a company that does. One of his companies was mentioned in Bankruptcy Court listings in January.
Given what they paid for Flagship and the decline in property values and lack of rental income, I wonder who is pulling the strings at the moment?0 -
I have heard that the Flagship is going to be demolished and replaced with a Premier Inn.0

Yes, it looks like someone is going to have to sell a few more Bargain Buckets to make up for the 23 million paid for the flagship:eek:. Still what do we expect, we could sell houses and shops to each other forever and we'd all be rich?
Bring back the good old days when anyone could walk into a bank and be given millions.0 -
NDBC should swoop in and buy the property, there's room for half of Trevor Polley in it (if you cleared out the parking obviously)0

Now Pizza hut has closed on Main Street!!!! How are all these premises going to be filled????????? I heard that on many commercial properties, the Landlords are only interested in long-term leases. The problem is that many of the businesses don't want to commit to anything long-term and end up not renewing their lease. This means that the Landlord is left with an empty property, the business who was renting the property ceases trading and the people of Bangor are left with one less shop/restaurant to visit. It's going to take a long time for all this to get back to the way things were...... if ever!0

Betty Black's "Nightclub" leasees have gone bust! Slap it up the robbers - they were the dearest pub in Bangor (excluding offers).0

The only thing that will be left are the cheap pubs/clubs and £1 shops. I can vaguely remember back to when I was a kid and my folks would take the family out to Bangor for the day. There were lovely clothes shops like Little Imp back then but now Main Street is/was filled with chains.
I'm struggling to think of a reason to go into Bangor these days. I'd love to take a day out and explore the area but there's nothing to do unless you want to take a packed lunch to TK Maxx and go for a wander around the fancy boats in the harbour.0
