But other people say her maternal instincts will take over and she'll suddenly shape up.
MrJudi suffered a stress related breakdown 10 years ago that knocked him for six. It was due to the pressures of work (he was the only salesman in a band of 8 that knew what he was doing, so he got the majority of the work). He was unable to do many things for himself and things he needed to do, he couldnt. It was hardest on the kids though as the mood in the house was awful.
Although we got through it relatively unscathed, i wouldnt say the family was untouched by it.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
This will sound harsh but I work with adolescents with mental health problems including eating disorders. Not all have parents with mental health problems but I would say it's a common factor. Very often the parents cope with the children through primary school and then it falls apart. I would never say don't have a baby becuase I know how strong that urge can be especially if you don't have a satisfying career but I do feel it would be a bad idea. Being a teenager isn't easy even when you have all the support you need. Without it, it can be hell. And when you have a messed up teenager, it touches everything and everyone.0

I think Ted_Hutchinson has given a very well thought through answer.
The fact that you have posted these questions on a forum and asked for others opinions would indicate to me that you already have concerns and can't really settle in your heart and mind one way or the other.
Good luck in making your decision, it's a tough one.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

As is often the way with things, when I posted on 16/03/05 that I didn't think it was appropriate to have children given my wife's condition, she was ALREADY pregnant (only by two weeks) and she's now around 10 weeks pregnant. D'oh! Now I hope that I live to eat my words and that she's an excellent mother.0

and good luck to the OP, it's never easy deciding on if/when etc on having children, it might be worth talking things over with your daughter to see her response.0 -

I know that I COULD give up work, and we could live on benefits, and I could care for her and the baby ... but I don't think that's something that I want to do and I don't think that I should entrust a baby to her care given how she can be.
.
Best of luck to you all0
