no actually i forgot about it till you just reminded meand she has just gone to bingo... i will ask for it tommorow... thanks thats another £20 i can put into my moving out fund :T woo hoo i could be over £100 this month
i thought that saving will be boring but infact this is better than debt repaying :rotfl:

Eh chuck
Bet you can accumulate money even faster than you can pay debts.
Well done. Keep it upIf you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
well she just arrived home and started chatting (as she does) and i asked for my money back, and she gave it to me straight away as she hadnt spent it tonight :T i will prob keep this though as i just remembered my ebay parcels and as 99% of them will pay using paypal i will need money to send them and i dont really want to go into my over draft0

well done for asking
you're slowly but surely re-educating her. proud of you!Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -
hi all me again
just sat here playing with figures really... now i wondered if before i move out i should have 3 months worth of basic salary (£750.00) in my back account as a back up? (opinions on this) so i started playing with figures... now my moving out fund needs to really be £1800.00 so here goes...
saving at £300 per month
~ 6 months (oct 07) till £1800.00
~ 14 months (june 08) till moving out fund and salary
saving at £350 per month
~ 5 months (sep 07) till £1800.00
~ 12 months (may 08) till moving out fund and salary
but then i had a look at my basic salary (never done this before as i always do overtime) and looked at living on just that and i had a shock... if i do no overtime each month my take home is ~ £886.40 but with ni/tax/pension taken out (using last months examples) its only approx £712.59  i am working for pennies  but i ran a moak soa on my basic and i dont think it can be done.... have a look all bills are approx (which is scary too) as i dont know how much it will cost till i 'do it'. Now this soa doesnt include driving lessons as i think i will pass before i move out but if it didnt thats another £120.00 per month~ what do you lot think
i think its rather scary if work stop overtime... or they end up making me redundant next year (this is in the pipe line)...
£400 Rent
£40 Gas/electric
£40 Phone/broadband
£12 TV licence
£15 Contents insurance
£90 Council tax and water
£50 Bus fare
£18 Xmas savings
£6 Charity
Total = £671.00
Remainder for food/day to day stuff ~ £41.590 -
I think its very wise to have some back up savings hun, eve if you dont use that money on the move, as like you said you could have some months with no overtime, and the savings would then give you a buffer for those times.
My other suggestion would be to maybe look toward getting a new job. For the amount of effort and hard work you put you, you deserve a lot more
I do think of your basic salary you would be entitled to some form of benefit from your local council, esp in relation to council tax.
Is there any likelihood of cheaper accomodation coming up? Or poss something which includes some bills?
I think £40 a month is far too little to leave yourself for food and day to day stuff.
Phone and broadband you could get cheaper as well, not masses but still cheaper. I've got BT for landline and broadband, and I know my broadband isnt the best deal, and I pay £35 a month which includes a buffer amount for call charges, (my actually bill should only be £27.99)
Hope this helps in some way, and good luck and congratulations on really thinking this all through xxWealth is not measured by currency0 -

this was my thinking too, also if god forbid, i stay there and i am made redundant i would need this big time

already on the case but all i can 'do' is retail and at £5.70 an hour thats the highest around here

yep cafc girl i could get council tax benifit and housing benifit, now that may give me another £40... but is £81 enough for food and day to day stuff plus payg mobile top up

yep i am with bt at the momment and i wont use the phone so it will be £11 line rental and i the £25 bb, but as i say the above ammouts are the maximum i think i will need

well i dont want to jump right in there and then come home with my tail between my legs, but the more i think about it the more i dont think its doable... the reason behind this is i like to save 'something' every month extra even if its only £10 as then it feels like i am doing something for me and also holiday etc is not included now i do holidays on the cheap anywas £50 per person but that couldnt be factored in either
i think unless i get another job... quickly that has an extra £100/£200 per month extra this cant be done in sep/october not unless i live on super noodles for the rest of my life :rotfl:0 -
:j just got £20 off my brother that he owes me... now i just have to get the remainder £21 off him and no one owes me nothing... this means i have the most ammount in my purse ever :rotfl:0

Supernoodles all the time would make it a very short life!! Hmm... think it's time for full-time college or a better job babes. Student accomodation will be a fair bit cheaper!Debt free 4th April 2007.
