Hi PAP
I old driving instructor and I had a theory about this. I failed my test the first time round (passed second thankfully) and I love driving, I'm confident and will go anywhere at any time of day. My best friend passed her first time round and she is terrified. She will only drive during daylight and will only drive on roads she doesn't know if there is someone in the car with her.
I think failing at least one test makes you a better driver.... It gives you more time to get confident behind the wheel.
Well that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it!!Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
well that was my second... my first i had 10 minors and 2 serious so i am getting better
its just a pain... it costs over £200 per month for lessons, but i told him i have ran out of savings so we are hopefully going to do driving every 2 weeks

Sounds good.
I had one instructor who charged £21 an hour, but would only let you have 2 hour lesson!!! £42 a go.... I wasn't with him very long.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
OWww pap, big hugs! sorry you didn't pass. I'm sure my aunt failed a few times before she did and I vaguely remember a primary school teacher who failed about 6 times, she was my favourite so your in good company0

Hi PAP
I'm really sorry to hear about your driving test. I'm sure you are feeling very upset.
If it's any consolation, let me tell you I only passed mine 4.5 years ago when i was 40 and that on my fourth test.
I dread to think how much i spent on lessons; the problem is I was always very nervous doing the test and did silly things. Now - I love driving and have been driving so much since passing; averaging 800 miles per week many times.
Believe me, you will pass soon - JUST FOCUS COMPLETELY AND BELIEVE IN YOURSELF! When I finally allowed myself to admit that I was a good enough driver to pass, it finally happened.
Take care and treat yourself well because I know how upsetting it is not to pass.
Love
Fiona :A0 -
thanks all
lucy i usually have 4 hour lessons with my instructor costing £80 a time, because my day off is on a tuesday and i am his only bristol pupil on a monday so he has to pay bridge tolls so he can only do a 4 hour lesson with me  otherwise its not worth him coming over
lj i am ok about it i am just kicking myselfnever mind onwards and upwards
booklover thanks fiona, i was so confidant today and my manovers were spot on and everything but i lost my nerve with that hill so hence i rolled back, ahh well i will pass next time, i am a 100% sure i will

Hey PAP, don't worry about the driving, I passed fifth time (:o) but apart from my minor wobble the other week, I'm a much more careful driver than most of my friends and think how cheap your insurance will be once you do get a car!No longer using this account for new posts from 20130
