Hi all ~ sorry i didnt reply earlier

The meal ~ yes i enjoyed myself, hated being out of my comfort zone but hey i did it

If i had a backbone and confidence i wouldnt let it happen but i just take it ~ a big downfall for me  Fac sory to hear what you ahve went through, hope it made you a stronger person though.

opinions please ~
i have been seriously thinking of turning my crafting into some kind of businessnothing 'big' but maybe make a few cards and stick at least 20 on ebay a week, to start with then maybe push into setting up my own website so i can 'personalise' the cards and charge a littele more ~ ideas? or opinions?
I have looked into costings and packs of cards (10) are roughly £5 ie 50p per card however on ebay they are much much cheaper if you buy them in bulk. embelishments/extra paper etc can be picked up as cheap as 50p and pens are anything from 50p ~ £2 then there is glue etc
so in theory i can produce a card for as little as £1.00 and sell them for £2.00+ obviously i will have to factor in the costs of sending them (pacakging) etc but what do you think
Time is teh big thing however i guess if i dedicate my saturdays off to them and in theory i can produce a card every 20~30min that means i could be producing 10~15 cards every saturday and also evening work
I would also have to set up a new id as i will use the one i have now for buying stock and then one for selling? I would also try and branch into wedding invites etc
Do you think this would work or do you think i am tottally bonkers? throw ideas and situations at me etc that would come against me when i make/sell these  please
edit: forgot to add i could also carboot them and try and sell them among collegues and i could also if it took off buy and emblishment machine and while producing cards i can also produce embelishments to sell on ~ cost the price of card <30p0 -
well P&P you will never know unless you have a go. Do it on a part time basis as you have said and see how you get on. If the sales are good then go for it. Good luck x5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.000 -
Sounds like a fab idea to me PAP.

I don't think you are bonkers! Mr Clinton Cards had to start somewhere didn't he?
Why don't you commit to making a small but fairly decent amount and then list them on a cheap EBAY listing day to keep the costs down? (Although I am not familiar with charges for businesses - if they are better or what?).
And yes, car booting - or at this time of year, indoor craft fêtes, is a good idea too.
You should give it a go! Follow your dreams - life is no rehearsal AND it will look great on your CV.

thanks all, loads have said i should sell them but its one of those things that you say ~ one day... i cant put things off now, if it doesnt work so be it
la they are all hand made by me... so i will need to produce some before i can list them... I have found a better suppler of cards ~ 200 cards and envelopes for £20 and an embelishment machine is cheaper than i thought.
I have enough things here to get me going to make approx 20 cards as long as i buy some cards so i shall do that sat/sunday the first pack may be expensive, as its a small pack, although i may just buy the ones above, even if they dont kick off plain cards sell well anyways
I have some made here ready and i shall make some more the weekend. We are also going to the discount asian shop anyways on monday so will stock up on paper etc there ~ 300 sheets of colloured paper for 95p :j
I guess i will need to spend approx £40 on this on monday however i still have that left in my bank account from this months spendsand as with me i already have lists etc going (only started the 1 hour ago) of how much i have brought/payed so far and how much i have payed and i shall also write down how much each card i produce cost :j
Ohhh ohhh i am getting excitedi hope this is a sucess, nothing better than making some money from something you enjoy

aww it sounds like a fantastic idea! and I love homemade cards - so once they're up on ebay will you PM me or something to let me know? Because I buy them from a carboot in the summer, but that's not running now, and I'd love to get some more. Plus, lend a helping hand and all
