Hey PAP - really hoping you were OK today though I am sure you probably had a few 'moments' if you were still feeling poorly.

YES someone will definitely want you. How long have you been at your current job? I'm getting the impression it's been a while and that loyalty will be a big plus on your CV.

Head up gal - you are someone's asset ok?

Hey Pap, glad work went better than expected for you today.
I found out the other day that while the office b*tch has left, I now have another on my case!! At least she only works in the mornings, so I only have to endure her 6 days in a month, rather than all the time like the last one!

P.S what happened to your no vender days? How are you doing on them?

    Hi PAP.

Well I hope the meal went well! Look forward to reading about it.

It's such a shame that you enjoy your job but you want to leave because of a nasty colleague. It really annoys me that this happens *so much* all over the country.

You ask anyone if they have left a job because they didn't like working with a particular person and everyone will say yes at some point they have done that. It's awful.

But, on the other hand, if you know you can do better then yes you must always look to better yourself.

The confidence thing.....I can relate. I used to think very little of myself. I think sometimes though we have to do a few scary things - sometimes by choice and other times by necessity - then our confidence grows.

The scariest thing (and most upsetting) I ever did was call it off with my BF of 9 years when he couldn't make up his mind whether he wanted us to get married or not. I was bricking it when he came around as I knew what I had to do. It ended up with me crumpled on the floor crying my eyes out but I knew I had done the right thing and everything after that has been quite easy in comparison!

You've worn a skirt tonight for the meal (I hope you didn't bottle out?!) which is a big step I know. I also live in trousers most of the time and when I wear a skirt I always feel like someone is following me around with a big fluorescent sign saying "Look at her! Look at her!"

Building confidence is usually about taking small steps and stepping further out of your comfort zone each time.

Keep a list of scary things you have done and scary things you would like to do - it might help. It doesn't matter if these things are small or might appear to other people as small - it's all about you hon.

Keep reaffirming to yourself - every day, lots of times during the day! - "I am a very competent and intelligent person and I can do anything I put my mind to" or something like that. Whatever works for you.

Sorry if I have 'gone on'! I do have a tendency to ramble...as you know! ;)

  • Hi Pap, hope you have a great night tonight - I saw the name cards you made, lovely! :j

I have to agree with what LookingAhead says - it stinks that so many people leave a job because of someone else. I used to work with a right old witch, believe me - she was just awful - made my life there hell. She picked on me and bullied me so much it was ridiculous.

What made it worse, was I was supposed to be her line manager. But she wouldn't dream of listening to a word I said - and my own manager didn't really want to know.

I would've left, too, but didn't find another job - she retired before I had a chance. Much longer and we might have killed each other

I'm rambling really but my point is, I never thought I would out-last her, but I did - however hard it was, however many tears were spilled, she did not get the satisfaction of seeing me leave because of her. And that actually feels pretty good :)
