Oh, and re the card payment - I would budget £40 a month starting from August (as you have done, I think?), but if there is nothing on your first statement, don't pay it - leave it in your account earning interest, and pay double the next month.

Does that sound bossy?? It wasn't meant to be, sorry. :D

ahh nah not bossey ~ good ~ the problem is my months work 15th~15th my new soa kicks in on the 15th... so if i dont get my statement before 15th sep shall i pay double in sep then? that makes sence :T

idea, only take enough change for the bus (should the foreseeable happen) and your bus pass....

That way before you spend in the machine you'll have to be dead sure you've got your bus pass, and if you're anything like me you still wont spend it in case something dreadful happens to said bus pass before the end of the day!

ohhh cafc girl what a fab idea... it also leaves my cards at home another bonus... the problem is i dont know the price of a single  i shall have to have a look on the wesite, thanks :grinheart

Can I send you a wee thingy to keep your travel pass in?
    would that help?
Just take a wee coin purse with enough for your fare in it.

beanie i have a free case thingie for my pass... i should have thought so at nearly £24 per 10 journeys... but i have this huge worry that it will be stolen/fall out/blown away :o i know i am strange  it stays in my denuim jacket but that still doesnt stop me worrying :rotfl:

regarding the purse, i use a coin purse at the momment for my main purse but i have got a keyring cat with a zip in her back and that would gladly hold a single fare :D off to dig it out

  • right all i have a crisis... now budget is going well and i have £45 plus the money in my purse till i get payed... tahts fine £20 for driving and £25 for bowling however bowling is cancelled but for a reason i wish it wasnt...

my best mate has been rushed back into hospital :( she has ms and hasnt been well all weekend, we joke about her illness so she doesnt ponder on it... anyway she was rushed into hospital this morning (she is on 2 weeks holiday from work) and she has had a number of tests that i wouldnt wish on anyone, i cant really get to see here tommorow as the hospital isnt on a main bus route so i have told her to give her my wishes... my best mate works in the same shop as me and her mother works in my department and bless she broke down on the phone to me she is heart broken...

anyway my best mates mother is on a dmp and my best mate is also in debt due to her ex  and basically i know how all this cash (ie £6 parking per day) etc is going to kill them espcially as its so close to pay day... so anyways i am going to give the money £20 that i saved for bowling to them... they need it more than me and the £5 will be used for 2 cards.

I am heartbroken... she is the first best friend i have ever had and she is such a lovely girl, i just hope the doctors can give her some medication. I am going to drop the two cards around tommorow night and i will go and see her when she comes out of hospital (fingers crossd its saturday)... why does this always happen to the nice people

    Hi PAP
Sorry to hear about your friend, hope she is home and feeling better soon.
It would be a lovely gesture for you to help her mum out with the £20 towards their extra costs. Unexpected costs like that can be really hard when you are on a restricted income such as a dmp.

You are a lovely person PAP.:A
