  • little update from me...

my application has been recived and is being processed for my furniture card (i am calling it that so i wont use it for anything else... namely a new consle for a fab game only released in that format... i shall not be buying it) and teh card should arive within 10 days :D i am very very happy, its in my grasp... shame delivery of the item is up to 28 days :o anyhow... i was going to ask you all a question about that... i have budgeted the repayments into my new soa... now lets say the card is recived in 10days (16th) and i purchased the item a few days later (19th) i am guessing the statement will come a month after that (19th sep) however that will push me into sep soa... can i pay £40 onto the card even if its empty  or shall i just hold it in my bills account and pay £80 in sep?

I so want to get this right... i dont want to pay any interest on it or get into debt :D savvy super pap now :rotfl:

so far so good with the remainder of my aug budget... i have transferred all my remaining savings across and now i should only have £70 this translates into ~

    £20.00 ~ drive
    £25.00 ~ bowling (should/could be cancelled :j)
    £10.00 ~ birthday money
    £5.00 ~ credit
    £5.00 ~ special delivery postage
£5.00 ~ next weeks weekly budget

now i am having problems in work... i cant stop using the vendor, we havnt got a main on 'we' fill as thats broken... however we have an outside filled one (choc/crisps) and we also have a coke machine, now i am forever spending in them... i have no real reason too, i take lunch with me and there is free filtered/chilled water. I would love to leave my purse at home but the problem is if i lose my bus card i need cash to get home :o so far i have found no successfull way of avoiding the machines... anyone any ideas?

thats it today... sorry if i ramble from now on on this thread but now i am on a new soa i am trying to keep myself sane :rotfl:

You need to wean yourself off the machines gradually Pap.

First, identify what it is that you tend to buy from the machines. Buy yourself some multipacks of them, and take them to work with you (do you have a locker? If not, just take one with you each day).

Give it a few weeks, until you have broken the habit of going to the vending machines.

Then, if you're concerned about the amount of coke/chocolate/crisps you are eating, gradually swap them for healthier snacks.

Or you could just go cold turkey and go for the healthy snacks straight away, but that wouldn't work for me - I'd be back at the vending machine by the middle of the afternoon, bored out of my mind of sunflower seeds...lol!

Oh, and re the card payment - I would budget £40 a month starting from August (as you have done, I think?), but if there is nothing on your first statement, don't pay it - leave it in your account earning interest, and pay double the next month.

Does that sound bossy?? It wasn't meant to be, sorry. :D

idea, only take enough change for the bus (should the foreseeable happen) and your bus pass....

That way before you spend in the machine you'll have to be dead sure you've got your bus pass, and if you're anything like me you still wont spend it in case something dreadful happens to said bus pass before the end of the day!

  • snaggs its funny... i only use the vendors when someone sits next to me, as then i stop reading and eat :o oh and its usually healthy ish snacks from there if the lady puts them in  that i go for. I have a locker but i wont keep anything in there as we sell everything and they do locker serches :o i have started nabbing lettuce from work to bulk my sandwich out so thats cool ~ and free :rotfl: *btw its not stealing my managers fine with it ;)* i suppose i will need to tell people to bog off ;)

hiya trying :hello: nice to see you think that of me... i hope you have that naughty step warm ;) i have tackled the fruit buying after work, its just this one now... i shall succeed :D
