Buyer opened dispute on faulty item.

Today I've got another email from ebay and I don't know what i supposed to think about. It's confusing me, they wrote he won the case, but is not eligible for refund? Can someone explain me this?
Customer Support has reviewed the case and made a final decision.
Whilst the buyer is not eligible for a refund, this case will still be included in your seller performance evaluation. The hold on this PayPal transaction has been removed. This case is closed.
Decision:
This case has been decided in the buyer's favour.
Comments:
The buyer returned the item without authorisation and did not provide tracking information for the return. You don't need to do anything else.
You can also view the details of this case in the Resolution Centre.0 -
I assume you didn't get the item back?
So your buyer won the case but failed to return it for a refund so you don't need to refund as buyer only gets a certain amount of time to 'complete' the case.
So you get a performance strike but keep the moneyI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. The (known) list of faults should be accurate and/or the item should say "untested".
I once bought a faulty mobile phone for the display, only to find that the LCD was cracked; this was not one of the faults described by the buyer and could not be seen from the photos, and if it had been then I wouldn't have bid on it. I got my refund.0 -

I haven't received my item back. Can he still appeal or reopen case?0 -
Fight it. I have when being in your position and I've not lost because I've sold it as parts or not working in the condition box, listed it as faulty, listed what I know but it may have other faults.0

There is always a chance of an appeal- but usually appeals only happen because tracking shows that the item is still travelling- and if it shows as dleivered within a few days of the claim being closed sometimes (and only rarely) will paypal reopen the claim. However if buyer didn't even bother adding the tracking details to the dispute then I doubt whether there is much chance of him getting it reopened whatever happensNotmyrealname wrote: »Fight it. Why do you want OP to fight winning the claim? Surely if he fights it and paypal overturn the decision then OP will be out of pocket- as it stands he doesn't have to refund. It is actually a good result for the OP
If you mean appeal the strike, I can't see how as no one is disputing that the claim was opened.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Has the rating been removed as well as the comment?
Also remember that there will now be a 'case opened against you strike' on your expanded dashboard. So now you have lost the case and will have to refund. now what? I thought you were going all guns blazing to avoid a refund which is why my suggestion of trying to do this amicably was shouted down.
Who cares about ebay poxy dashboard - what about whats right and not letting liberty takers take the P.
You may be an ebay stooge but i say more people should do like omas and stand up to these p takers that ebay implicitly encourage by their misguided policies.
No wonder sellers are leaving ebay in droves - after all who in their right mind can put up with all this sxxt.
Glad it seems to have worked out ok 4u omas.0 -

Get enough low stars on your ebay seller dashboard, and your account will be restricted, or at the worst case you could be suspended from selling indefinitely.
Would be interested to see the statistics regarding sellers leaving. I think more sellers would leave if there was a suitable alternative. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever
