My mum's just rung to tell me she's had a delivery! She says they (hyacinths and narcissus) are lovely. Thanks OP!0

Tues Dec 13th (late evening) Ordered 3 x hibiscus, 1 princettia and the mini princettias free gift - all for delivery to my home in London.
Fri 16th - received email advising both princettia's had been dispatched 1st class that day.
Mon 19th -
0240 - received email advising the 3 hibiscus had been dispatched 1st class that day.
1030 - the mini princettia free gift arrived by Royal Mail van . It was well packaged, although quite a lot of soil had fallen out of one of the pots but it was easy to tip it back in and firm down around the stem. Happy with the quality of the plants although the stand the 3 pots go in isn't great but hey for a free gift it's perfectly ok.
1230 - received the address card relating to the full size princettia on it's own in the regular mail! Not inside plastic covering and more importantly not attached to a box containing a plant! Called Thompson & Morgan - very helpful - offered to send a replacement but then found the princettia's were no longer in stock. Suggested I leave it a couple of days to see if the plant arrives and if it still doesn't then to call them again and they will send something else or refund me - my choice.

1300 - 2 of the 3 hibiscus plants have arrived. Again very well packaged. Both plants have lovely glossy healthy leaves, although only the slightest of colour showing in one bud on one plant at the moment. Hopefully now I've brought them into the warm the first bud will start to open so by the time I give them to friends on Saturday & Sunday they can see what it is as opposed to just a green plant! No sign of the 3rd plant yet - hopefully it will come tomorrow before I leave for an appointment!
Overall very happy with the quality of the plants received, but annoyed it doesn't look as if I am going to get my full order. I'm not sure though whether that's down to Thompson & Morgan or Royal Mail. It's a pity each plant is individually boxed as it means if you are ordering multiple items to the same address they can arrive in dribs and draps.I was trying to avoid having to go out to the shops anymore but looks like I might have to.
Merry Christmas!0 -
My mom and my neighbour both received their Princettas yesterday and were both delighted to get a surprise in the post. I've now seen both plants and they look healthy and more expensive than they were. Thanks OP, you've made two old ladies (and me!) very happy.0

I ordered a hyacinth on the 14th and it arrived today. It has small yellow shoots on one side of the basket only which was a little disappointing as I'm sure the website said it would be near to flowering. It was bought as a present but may keep it and buy something else. I guess it's hard to judge the quality properly until the plant flowers though.0

Just realised after visiting the website again that the hyacinths aren't due to flower for 2 to 3 weeks after delivery, so shouldn't have complained about that one!0

My Hyacinth Scented Basket arrived today after ordering on the 14th.
It was packaged well and it looks quite substantial in a nice big basket. So I'm impressed with the quality. Unfortunately, the bulbs have not developed yet and are yellow and barely sticking out of the foliage. It looks a bit of a mess to give to my neighbour (who it's a gift for) to be honest! I know it will get better but probably not in the few days left til christmas. I'm going to give her it anyway. She's gardening mad so I'm hoping she'll understand and know what to do with it!
I know nothing about plants. I'm just going to put it in the window for a few days and hope it looks a bit more alive by christmas eve. It seems fairly moist at the moment. Can anyone give some advice about how often I should water it in the next few days? I always overdo the watering! Or anything else I can do to look after it for that matter!

Keep it cool (not cold, but def not next to a radiator), don't overwater, but give it a drink following its trip in the post to you. They're not meant to flower for a few weeks, but they'll look fab when they do.
Oh - and if it had green foliage sitting on the top of the soil, leave it there! It's to provide goodness to the bulbs.
' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -

Merry Christmas!
Ordered mine same time.
They were sent yesterday 1st class but "please allow up to 5 days for delivery".
Isn't Christmas exciting! :snow_laug0 -
I don't know why but because its a BULB I am still keeping my fingers crossed somehow that it will survive in the box for the next 12 days somehow! lol
Thats IF my neighbour took my Hyacynth IN for me which he usually does if he is there and leaves it outside my door so it is still cold , not freezing and not TOO draughty in our communal hallway , otherwise they would have put a card through and it will be sitting in the sorting office all alone and neglected poor thing till I can arrange redelivery in the new year , just in time I should imagine as they keep parcels for 2 weeks before sending it back! :eek:0
