Well thanks for all your advice tonight as a short measure we have put his nappy on backwards !! will see how this works out. I just hope that he doesnt poo in the night tonight and take it off as he has had very loose stools today and it would be a nightmare if he done some and through the nappy around. We shall look to investigate the all in one rompers that do at the back, but at the moment money is tight and we havent had our cb or dla sorted yet so have no money as such coming in to help with any costs. I will update later to let you know how it went. We are still not trying the potty training yet on advice from our SW child SW and generally he doesnt seem really ready for it emotionally.

Oh, I think that might be a big mistake. Sorry! But with disposable nappies most of the absorbent material is at the front, and that's even more important for little boys. I think even if he keeps it on, you might well find that he's soaked through in the morning. When some posters suggested putting things on backwards, I assumed they meant his sleepsuit, so that the poppers were at the back not the front, but not the nappy itself. Though that only works with footless sleepsuits of course.

If his stools are loose then maybe the extra absorbency might be better at the back LOL

Do try the nappy backwards and winding tape round it, hopefully it will work for you, it didn't work for us because DS2 is, ahem, 'gifted' in that department ;).

  • Well the sleep suit backwards worked and he wasnt able to take it off he looked a bit funny this morning when i went to get him up mind.

going to continue like this til we can look into buying some proper ones. Thanks for all your help. I even managed to sit him on the potty this morning early and we waited and waited and waited and eventually he done a full tank of wee. I was so pleased for him

  • Lots of praise for the wee in the potty :j i know that you think social worker it right but is she?

If he is not distressed by sitting on the potty I would try a simple reward based system. So if he does do something on it give a treat. He will soon learn that nice things happen, even if he does not understand language yet. I would also sit him on the potty before you go to bed thats how I got mine clean at night. Yes you do have to wake them when moving them but they soon go back to sleep, its worth a try.

I would be looking at his diet and trying to change the time he is doing number 2s. Its not usual for children to do this in the night unless he feels safe and relaxed in his bed. Maybe he was shouted at for soiling in the past who knows.

Bless him he is lucky to have you.
  • well we have had number 2 wee on pot yet still no poo - just a load of real bad wind as soon as he has trumped we have put him on potty but nothing as yet. Thanks again for your comments going to put the suit on backwards again tonight to see if it does the trick

Ah thanks for that Social Workers all think they are right and you cannot say anything different you have to go with what they say otherwise they get annoyed.
