Just reading another thread about vouchers and remembered that I got £20 in gift vouchers for xmas that my mum has had and not given me cash for yet. Woohoo that has cheered me up no end:j
Like hayhay, I have made a saving on a repeat holiday booking. Not sure how much til I check, but I am going to count that into my total too as I would have booked it anyway.:D🎄PAYDBXMAS21 #11 £11,300/£11300

Got £15 Vouchers from Toluna so that brings me to £80.58.
Listed a few things on Gumtree. For the heavier items i much prefer it to Ebay.
I tried Zapper as a lot of u suggested. The books and cds came up to 30p each so i am going to try Ebay for them. :-)0 -
before i forget, elo newer newbies/reformed lurkers, and welcome!:)
ooooh, im lovin this thread, and this whole idea so so much! i get dead excited when i see how well people are doing. to those that dont feel theyre doing well, dont panic! itll be ok! im not doing well on ebay either, but i figure i'll try again in a month or so, after the post xmas rush has finished. the things on amazon/green met can just sit there, altho, yup, most stand no chance of goin when bigger companies are listing the same stuff for 1p, so i'll deal with em later in the yr. its only half way thru jan! if we do everything now, what will we do later! dont get disheartened to those of you that are, theres another 11 months to go! besides, £2012 seems abit bit much for me to reach, but im loving trying, and anything i save is such a big deal, and makes me so happy, so think of it that way. im rethinking everything to do with money, and yup, going totally mental about it! but you know, its good, right? altho, we're gonna need the money for a support group for our friends and families soon, as im driving mine insane!
im counting every lil thing i save, from switching phone etc, to coupons, to you saved this much ( altho only on things i would buy, ie not the reduced pickled onion mon mons i was forced at gunpoint to buy today. it would ave been illegal to leave em as it goes...). i'll never see a penny of it in actual money, it goes straight into the debts, but im lovin this new mindset! id been feeling so negative about money, and altho the worry is still there, i feel far more positive and in control.
if ure feelin disheartened, maybe this story will help...somat that has made me feel good about maself, is how good im being with impulse buys (mon mons aside). i was a total qvc addict, and ive not watched since nov. ive deleted all the sale emails i get from everywhere without looking, and now i wish id kept track of things i wouldve bought if i hadnt been doing this, as that wouldve been shocking and inspiring. have you got owt similar to feel proud about?
i know it sounds all cliched, but all of us doing this should be proud of ourselves just fer trying. no matter what the figure at the end of the year is!:A
Hear hear sherbie well said :j:j:j:j
I also love the way it is changing my ideas and ways...............Mr M's got fairy wash gel on offer at £5 but I have a coup for bold, spent this morn searching for bold on offer :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: how sad/brilliant is that, before I would have got the fairy and be happynow I am doubly happy (found some in Mr T's)
I know I will not get to the end of the year with £2012 in cash as stuff happens (she is reminded that oven broke pre xmas and then a 2nd one is giving up too) but it would be nice just to have a little of it saved, thats my aim even if its just £300 or soDebt Free Diary - Second Chances! CLIPPERTY and CLAIRE. I know your right. I have been making a list of how much money I owe and where. I think it all seemed a bit unachievable for a minute and I had a bit of a wobble. Rereading some of the threads and your posts have made me realise that this is about changing my thinking. I have been so much more aware of where I am spending money. Thanks
Don't dispair nomi01 I started my DMP in May 2009 after my lightbiulb moment, my ciggy is just my card debts not mortgage or 2nd mortgage and as you can see it is going down not as fast as some but as least I am no longer in a cycle of taking a loan to pay debts then running them up again :grouphug:
It is achievable and I wished I had had my LB moment years ago, the main thing is you are facing your situation, whatever that is:)Debt Free Diary - Second Chances! Life in a Tourer........Debt free, building a savings pot0 -
Thank you! Did it then give you the option to print with a new expiry date? I'll try this tomorrow at work as I don't have working printer at home now. Hmmm... I wonder how far back it'll let me go.
BatOutOfHell - What about selling your items elsewhere such as Gumtree? I haven't used Amazon, but can you list on more than one site?
nomi01 - You can count your coin jar - have you joined the Sealed Pot Challenge? I'm doing this too and am going to count what's in my pot towards my total here too.
Clipperty - You can count me in with your voucher thread, although I have to say, I think I'll need some encouragement to spend mine!! I'm a bit of a hoarder with my vouchers/points and rarely spend... hence me now having far too many expired Tesco vouchers. I also once had my pocket picked (while I was sufferring with morning sickness on a train) and they stole my Boots Advantage card with nearly £100 worth of points on.
Hey clairelh, how long ago did you have your Advantage Card stolen?Im pretty sure you can report it as stolen and they will send you a new one with the points transferred across hun?x0 -

Ooh it was over 6 years ago now. I did report it stolen as soon as I realised, but the person who stole it off me must have got off the train and immediately spent the points. I was on the train from Edinburgh and the person spent most of them in Sunderland on that day, and then used the rest in London the next.
If the points have been spent before you report it missing, as with bank cards, it's down to the discretion of Boots to refund. I could prove I didn't spend the amount from London as I had made a transaction myself in my local Boots within an hour of the London spend, which I had evidence of, and they refunded me for this, but I couldn't prove it wasn't me in Sunderland, so they wouldn't give me those back.0 -
Hello all! Kind of lost my way a bit after joining this challenge, had great hopes but completely lost track of trying to save or record savings. Back on the wagon now so to speak. I've just saved £12.68 by buying pet supplies online instead of in the local pet store. Onwards and upwards! Now to catch up on the rest of the thread :-)0

Hi all
Glad to hear lots of you are doing really well at this. :j
I unfortunately have had a bit of a slow start. Getting back to work and uni meant all my good intentions have fallen away from me and I have had other things to worry about (as is always the way for us all!) This in addition to the fact I broke my laptop on New Year's Eve and insurance company only delivered new one yesterday meaning I haven't really had access to eBay or this forum.
However, I hope to get back onto it this week, a late start is better than none! I did get £72.50 cashback through Quidco a couple of days ago so that's started me off nicely and hopefully I will be able to catch up soon! Am hoping to sort through some things to sell this weekend to possibly put on eBay and perhaps review my prices for Amazon and see if I can reduce some of the asking prices as they've been on there a good while now and aren't shifting.
Onwards and upwards!0 -
Managed to get P*mpers Nappies for £4.98 in Sainsbees today, they had 1/3 off. I'm going to put £3 in challenge pot as I bought 2 and they are £6.50 in MrT's at the minute. Only a small saving but thought I would stock up. Hopefully daughter will start potty training when all those have gone!!Fashion on a ration 0 of 660

Yayyyyyyy! I'm on a roll! Just checked two Mr A receipts and gained £3.46 on their price guarantee challenge. Just logged into consumer pulse and have 37,000 points so have cashed some in for £10 Argooos voucher as I need to buy a new stir-fry pan. £26.68 saved/earned today, yippee!0
