£247 from dog-sitting for me in September, so I have saved the required amount.....

....however I have lent someone £600 and spent £300, do I take these off the total?

My total saved up to now is is £2250.60 in extra cash or £1350.60 if I have to minus £900.

Personally i'm going off my bank balance, I set up a separate savings account for the challenge so if I spent £300 i'd drop that from my total. As for loaning some, i'd probably keep it in my total as long as I thought i'd get the money back. But that's just my take. It's really up to you, don't think there really are fixed rules for this challenge - just a bit of fun and motivation to make some extra cash.
  • I have a separate stash too, so I'll take off the £300 and count the £600.

    Total so far £1950.60 :)

Sept not a great month, but totals as follows:
    Ebay: £8.50
    Surveys: £15
    Cashback: £10.71
    Money off stuff £29.50
    Mobile phone savings : £7

Whoppee a grand total of £70.71!

Well done everyone else, esp anyone who was in at the start - don't seem to be many of us left!

Can anyone point me in the direction of the new spreadsheet? The one on page 1 seems only to go to June??

    Hi all,
Its been a while since I P.M'd a monthly total as I have had a rediculously expensive few months. I have moved house, finished uni and started a new job. Also had expensive birthdays too.
So, I am looking for that kick start I need to get back in the saving way.
I would love to reach my £2012 total.
If I write it on here that I will start being shop savvy again, it might help me to do it.
Well done to everyone who has stuck with it and to those who have achieved there target.:T

OK, today is the day my saving ways return. I have been saying it for weeks but today I actually sat down and did a weekly meal planner.
I have worked out my finances and they look dire. So until I know for sure what money we have each month ( I have just started a new job) and speak to tax credits, I have to work with what we have.
Hoping to have some unexpected money returned, not a fortune but will be very helpful. I am not counting on it until it is in my bank though.
I already have some presents put up for xmas, but no where near finished.
I always find this time of year tough.
Is anyone else struggling to stick to the challenge? Its so frustrating as I love it when I am in the swing of it, but I lose my way really easily.:(
