Evening all. Still here, haven't blown away. Had a rough ride today, weather and emotion wise, but some good friends sorted me out. :A
I have just done another wee bit of Chrimbo shopping, and am off to bed early with my torch in case there's a powercut.
Jaxx that's not 'our' essexgirl. Poor woman though, my heart breaks for her.
Take care all of you.

Happy Birthday Bramble hope its been a good one for you.
HH well done on spotting an opportunity for your OH My son-in-laws job was 'restructured'( sneaky word for pay drop of £1100 per year.) they know at aged 41 jobs are hard to find, and he's been there since he was 18.Blooming Kent County Council.
DD has a rotten cold and is losing her voice, (A problem for her as a lot of work is done via the phone as she is a lettings agent) and her colleague has jus gone sick with a sniffle knowing full well that DD won't give in as she needs the money. It means she has to work this Saturday as well which was her week-end off and can't get a day off in lieu as its too near the end of the year and they don't carry over lieu days to the New Year.
Mikey went off to school today wrapped up in a sheet (as a Roman soldier)Mum had to pay £7.00 for the privilege as well as the school decided to get a chap from the local museum to speak to the children today and tomorrow about Rome and its history.Blasted school seems to permanantly have its hand out for cash.My poor DD seems to have the worries of the world at the moment.
I am going to have some soup and a sandwich for a snack tonight as I don't feel like cooking.
I hope all of you in the north are ok the weather seems to be really bad.Its blowing a hooley in Kent but not too cold though
Have a good evening everyone

Hello all,
Happy birthday Bramble!
Been a miserable, cold day here to-day, heat on almost all day as OH has another cold that he can't seem to shift and he is feeling the cold even more than usual.
Gammon steaks with turnip, carrot, onions and mash for dinner, followed by slices of Pandoro....rather like a Panettone without the fruit, prefer Panettone but was only able to get one this year, going to have a go at making one myself...made 2 huge Oxford lunch cakes yesterday, for once followed the recipe to the letter and the b**ody things overcooked.....even though I took them out an hour earlier than recipe said....they will be eaten, but have a crust they could have done without.
Was in a new Aldi today....just to get turnip for dinner and some offcuts of bacon, and they were giving away lovely spotty shopping bags, glad I went as like big bags, especially at that price!
Positive vibes to all not feeling well, congratulations to all celebrating, hope that everyone in Scotland is being careful in current weather.

Sorry belated birthday wishes to Bramble and also hope that Essex Girl is doing ok xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
