There is a full discussion on the merits of the eMachine on HUKD here
Seems an excellent price for that spec.
Medion customer service has always been ok with me. Had a faulty DVD Rom drive and noisy graphic card fan. They came and replaced it within a few days.0 -

Indeed, but it is an Insurance backed warranty, not a manufacturers warranty.
Big difference.

Alternatively, offer this guy £80 & he'll post you the same CPU (new one, sealed in a box)....

This chip is a mobile processor although can be used in a desktop and is in some of the VIIV (I think) systems. Because of its mobile origin it is probably easy to overclock with desktop cooling and can perform more respectably. However because it ca be used in a mobile ie a notebook as a replacement or upgrade then this considerable increases the price. Its a specialist processor so is retaining its value. Its similar to the mobile athlon processor which commanded a substantial price premium over the desktop athlons because of its overclockability.

You would be paying £150 for a similar spec to the eMachine mentioned above and for only a slighly faster, and hardly noticeable to most people, processor.0 -

Well my issues led to a court case against them.......hope you dont mind high phone bills whilst waiting in their queuing system or disinterested/ingnorant phone staff who never do what they promise to do.0 -

I had awful service from Medion the first time I had to call them out to my PC ( graphics card had gone ). Took weeks, loads of phone calls, no-one getting back to me, claiming they'd lost my number etc., finally trading standards letter had to go out to get anything done. Recently had to use them once more ( graphics card gone again ) - this time instant service, I called on a Sunday ( used an alternative number to the 0870 one and it worked ), the Monday the service sentre called and made appointment for the work to be done on the Tuesday. Couldn't fault it this time. The engineer said they had very inadequate coverage in Scotland till recently and have now increased their workforce to cover the area properly. Have to say the service was like night and day - people seem to have widely differing experiences of them,
maybe the service was very location dependent.0 -
can you please confirm what connections there are for a screen on the emachine please
is it just vga or is there dvi
thanks0
