I have to say that it doesn't sound like it's getting any better yet (if anything, it's slightly worse!).
Just been for a bath so am nice and warm and seriously think I may head off to bed with my Kindle & a hot chocolate before I get cold again ...... stay safe everyone.
Not that I think they'll be much sleeping going on if it stays like this (can still hear next doors bins) but hopefully it'll be gone / a lot better when we get up tomorrow.
Thanks Rising - I went out and luckily it wasn't my gate, must have been the neighbours and thankfully they have sorted it as I couldn't have coped with that banging all night.
Years ago, we had a phone exchange box (metal box with lots of wires inside) The doors wouldn't lock so it used to bang all blinking night in high winds... Kept me awake for days... Phone the relevent people but nobody did anything.... So off I went, under the cover of darkness with my No Nails gun (i'd have taken a welder if I had one :rotfl:) .... Stuck the damn thing shut, permanently0 -
Signs are that the schools are going to be open again tomorrow.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

Overall not as bad as I thought it might be (in Fife anyway - can't speak for other places!) Lights flickered a bit but no power cuts.February Grocery Challenge - £100.87/£180February Don't Throw Food Away Challenge - £0.60/£1.500

No powercuts here either Polka, we lost a downpipe and guttering from the conservatory and the fence between us and next door is no longer there - but at least everyone is okay thats the main thing,Every days a School day!0

edit: due to private communication that this might be seen as offensive I wish to make absolutely clear that I do not, of course, mean to imply cooking mama is herself larger than shoud be exected, jut that a person dorothying past a window would indeed see a large thing, even if it were a diminutive or very svelte person.

phew!
thanks for taking it as meant
fwiw, I felt a bit peeved when I felt solid in our winds down here in the south west, but my elderly horse almost blew over:o:o0 -
I live in Dunbar (30 miles south of Edinburgh) - left work early and got home at 2 and it wasnt too bad - they closed the schools here at 12 - it got steadily worse and was horrible earlier on. Could barely hear the telly above the wind (and we have fleece liners at the windows, lined curtains and double glazing) Our entire fence between us and our neighbours has blow over and it strewn all over the garden but dh refuses to go out and move it! We have our caravan on a seasonal pitch near Dumfries and are hoping that its ok. Its still bad here but at least we have electric although we had a few flashy moments when I thought it would go off.......heres hoping it will be gone by the time we wake up!Kondo'ed 76 items from wardrobe, 4 carrier bags of books0
