    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Maybe it was aimed at the more adventurous types!
    They are saying on netweather forums that theres another 2 storms to hit next week. One on Tues and one on Friday. Not sure where exactly will get worst hit but we will all get some stormy weather.

    Adventurous types? Storm chasers or muscle men who can lift lorries over and hold roofs on? :rotfl:

    Yep - even us soft southerners are going to be hit with something or other... Just hoping for a light dusting of the white stuff but not enough to keep me off work - bad enough that DD2 was off school for several days this week so I couldn't work, bless her she still isn't well.

    Got a fab store cupboard and am prepared for anything now, except the loss of cash if I can't work :eek:

    No No NO. No storms allowed on Friday! I need to get down to London for my sisters 'Wedding Reception' ( couldn't make the wedding with 24hrs notice for a beach in Thailand.) I'll take all the snow you want to throw for the next 3 months but PLLLLEEEEEEEASE let me get to london on Friday.

    I remember seeing you post about that before and I meant to reply then... According to "those that know" and I definately don't mean the met office, as they always get it wrong, you are unlikely to be able to travel at the end of the week so if it were me, I would be coming down on Wednesday evening latest... If it wasn't a wedding, I would risk it but it would be awful to miss your Sister's wedding :(

    There is some very unpredictable and strange weather out there atm

    Keep us posted about your plans/outcome xx

    ETA - don't forget that the south is hopeless when we get snow as we just aren't used to it like Scotland - everything comes to a grinding halt xx

    Dreadful pics :( Had to chuckle when I got to the end and there was an advert to "Visit Scotland" It wasn't the best webpage to encourage people to come up there :D:o

    :rotfl:I'd missed that!

    £1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000
    Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
    Debt free & determined to stay that way!

    Apologie for hi-jacking the thread, but our current plans are:
    Fri early am:Scotland -> Yorkshire
    Sat early am: Yorkshire -> Cheshire
    Sat late pm: Cheshire -> Yorkshire
    Sun whenever: Yorkshire -> Scotland

    This is to get us and mum to a relative's wedding on Saturday. So any more info on how bad and where it's going to be would be gratefully received.

    Frugal gee thanks! Unfortunately DH on call untill 11am Friday so can't leave earlier. Worst scenario we drive but I'd rather not.

    All too reminiscent of my 21st. Petrol strike. Only about 1/2 the guests arrived. I know she's been 'married' since April, but we haven't had the chance to celebrate and I reeealy want to be there.

    But I love the snow.

    :( Fingers crossed for you. If you do end up driving, make sure you have a well stocked winter car kit, ie food, drinks, blankets, loo roll :o, boots, spare hats, scarves, gloves etc... anything to make you more comfortable IF you got stuck for hours on the motorway - M11 people were stuck all night a few years ago :eek: The difference between having a car full of supplies and having none would make the world of difference in worst cast scenario.

    Don't like to sound doom and gloom but far better to go overboard than underboard IFYSWIM :)

    Netweather.tv is a really good website to check. Not sure if you read the Preparing for Winter board but loads of really useful tips on there :)

    I hope its not that bad, and you get there with no problems :)

    So far, yes. Along with high winds so drifts expected.

    The whole country will likely be affected except the SW.

    Its all on the Prep for Winter board if you want to read thru the last couple of days posts.

    :)
