Yes, :T:T:T, and you need to analyse that and what it says, you may just learn.
    After a quick view, the man, an 81 year old man(god), says;
Yep at 81 I've realised racing is dangerous, I'm still competing but smart enough to realise it's dangerous. Its scared into thing about my liabilities, not giving up driving, just not going to do it competitively, :T:T:T

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

    So, he's retired from racing.
At 81, so that proves older drivers still have the skills required to drive safely.

But as you quote that to apply to driving to work, there is your problem.
You view every drive to work as a race, always competing with every other driver to get there first, and blaming every one else around you for not driving in the same poor style.
It's not a skill to imagine you're a wannabee Stirling Moss on every stretch of road you're on.

But property.advert didn't specify old people. Their post (the one that you quoted) clearly stated that they thought it would be a good idea for everybody to require some form of test every 5 years or so.

I actually agree with you, but 5 years is to close for 20/50 year olds, after that age yes.

But the point is that this has become a hatred thread which is what the earlier poster was pertaining to (sorry forgot who said it)

Not when you consider that most people never reach that guys level of competence, he's coming down from the very top, the rest are coming down from less than 25% of that......

  • When you start having accidents due to medical conditions, maybe that's the time for the licence to go back.

So why label all old drivers as Sh*te, which you have done. Yes some are a liability, but so are some women, some men, and to be honest so are you if your videos are to be believed.

Because they don't need to be on the roads, once they hit retirement they don't drive enough to justify the cost of owning/keeping a car, the rest of us do...... It's simple risk mitigation to make sure the dangerous one's (for whatever reasons) cannot get into the driving seat of a car.....

It was the former transport minister who stated that the elderly are as likely to be involved in an accident as a 17yr old......
But the scary part of that, is that the elderly drive less than a 17yr old. SO what would the stats say if every elderly driver did 15000 miles a year?

Maybe so but 70 year olds tend to be involved in accidents that involve a nasty scratch or two whereas 17 year olds tend to go for accidents that involve the car being spread across a couple of fields and this is reflected in their respective insurance premiums.

Older drivers are, statistically, much safer than younger drivers - hence the huge difference in insurance premiums.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

There is a point when it starts going back up due to getting older.
