LOL i think i might do that for future trips. to be honest, its the first time we've been to The Lowry, and the first time i'd been to the theatre in years, so i'd completely forgotten about this.. there aren't many other bars nearby, its not like the West end of London, but we do travel from fairly close by so i think we'll just have to get our timings better next time. [or take up Shez's idea of a hipflask!!]. We also didn't buy these tickets, they were a treat from my mom and dad, after they went to see it in Brum shortly after christmas. Or wait till summer and take a nice picnic to eat by the canal - the Lowry is built next to the docks leading off the Manchester Ship Canal. i think. its by a lot of water anyway!
i bet your friend (the one you went to the wigmore hall with) won't be making that offer again.. heheheh
oh and btw, if anyone is thinking of going to see the Chinese State Circus, do go, it was fabulous and great for children too. And for those who are deaf, its such a visual spectacular you don't really need to hear what's going on!

p.s. Shez, answered your incense question over on the other thread

Afternoon all
Glad your dd is home moggins hope she gets better soon
I've decided I'm not going to make plans anymore just as the boys were getting ready to go to school ds2 fell down the stairs he didn't do to much damage but really bashed his elbow so I ended up taking him to A&E but he's only badly bruised it I've now told him that I'm going to get a big roll of bubble wrap for him as I'm fed up of him hurting himself
not going to do much now but will crack on later when ds1 is in to give me a handI didn't say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you

Just a very quick post as I have only skimmed today. Had a staff meeting first thing and then quite a lot of Friday catching up to do here. Hoping to head off early to miss worst of the rush heading for Forth Bridge as there has been a change of plans. I am babysitting the boys at their house to save putting them in car at bedtime and driving 45 minutes to our house. I will be putting them to bed which I just love!
Moggins - so glad DD home from hospital. Excellent news on the planning front too!
Kyle - no photos of whales. DH was viewing them through telescope as they were quite a distance away. Haven't been to the Black Isle but used to skirt it when we lived in Caithness!
Will try to catch up with you all later but I think GB may be a tad on the tired side by the time she returns to the nest tonight!
Love and hugs to those who need them.

I've been worrying about this, I know exactly where you mean and it really would have been a nightmare
I told mr tru about your DD (he was only out for about 20 mins  ) and he said 'What are we waiting for? Let's go and get her"
I was a bit surprised, he wouldn't have said no but I thought he might think I was being a bit silly, seeing as we've never met you :rotfl:
I meant to say earlier, if you're stuck again, you can catch the number 10 bus from the top of Seymour Road, get off at the first stop on London Road and you're right near the hospital.
Tru, please tell Mr Tru I think he's wonderful
DD is now snoring away on the sofa, I'd like to get a nap myself but I'm worried she might wake up, the paediatrician said it could be up and down for the next couple of days so I'm going to have to be on my toes. Luckily DH is home tomorrow, I am supposed to be posing for these portraits for my sister on Sunday, I will have to see how she is then, I'd hate to let my sister down now as it's the first time she has spoken to me in 3 years. I was hoping this could be the start of rebuilding a relationship with her.
Thanks for the info about the bus. I normally walk up Hopewell Street and straight up Derby road over the railway lines. When I've had a full nights sleep it's not a bad walk but I wasn't looking forward to it this morning.
We really will have to meet up in town for a coffee one of these days, it would be nice to put a face to the name

Hi everyone!
Hugs to those who need them.
All well here today and it's really bright and sunny having started off grey and drizzly.
OS today so far has been changing linen and towels and I managed to get 2 loads through before coming in to work. I shall be off to Mr T tonight [bottle of wine top of my list!!!] and then I must ring a friend who's kept calling after 9 and I've been in bed each time snoring my head off trying to get shot of my cold [which thankfully is now on the wane]
Tomorrow's plans are a wig trim for all of us mid morning and then my friend is joining us for lunch [chicken breasts stuffed with ham and cheddar]. Then tomorrow friends have invited me to an Imbolc ritual and celebration. Am really looking forward to that. However, the most exciting news for me this week is my friend who is the secretary of the local Unitarian church emailed me to say that Philip Carr-Gomm who is one of the big names in druidry is coming over to the church to give a talk as part of the interfaith programme and would I like to go? Would I heck. Fab opportunity. Only drawback is that I have to wait until May. Never mind.
Hope you all have a happy and bargain filled OS weekend!

Afternoon all, hope you are all well. Moggins am delighted that your DD is home with her loving mum, heres to a speedy return to full health. (((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))). Crazychick regarding the cats and tablets-its years of practice!!!! Depending on cat involved I either grind them up, put into a small bit of meat or tuna. Or just put it at the back of the tonge and done!! I used to work as a voluenteer(sp) with rescued cats so got to get pklenty of practice!!!!!!!!!! Twink thank you for the links. I already had a link to fabcats as I am a member of the FAB but the other one WOW!!! Have spent ages on there this morning.(in between cleaning up LOTS of p*o!!
