Good to hear about your FIL, Emma! Nice to have some positive news!
Moggins - glad your daughter is home again and hope she is fully recovered soon!
Twink - thank you for your well-wishes. Am a bit nervous, it has to be said. Why are interviews like waiting for an exam?
Today OH got up really late, despite me chivvying him at 6am, 6:30am, 8am and then 9am! He finally arose at 11am!! He's gone to work, but will now be really late home, which isn't very helpful as my mum's coming over to babysit while I go out for the interview and I was hoping OH would be home on time. Still, hopefully the interview won't go on too long.....
After breakfast and seeing OH off to work, I took Daughter to the local park. It's really handy - has only been there a couple of weeks but it has swings, a slide, a climby thing, see saw and rocking horses. Daughter loves it and it gives her a good walk there and back, lots of exercise running about, climbing and exploring (and playing Boo! round the bin!!
) and lots of fresh air for us both. Plus it's completely free, so that's a bonus!
Emptied all the bins - cans, glasses, normal and organic, mopped the kitchen floor, tidied the kitchen, washed the cats bowls, mats and feeding area, hung out the washing, put another load on, put on the BM for the first time in ages....hope it turns out ok as I realised that the yeast I'd bought is for hand-making, not bread-machines. Also didn't have any strong flour, but Squeaky quotes Delia as saying that plain flour gives an equal if not better result... Either way, it's got 2 chances!
Hoovered all the downstairs, made tonight's dinner, fed Daughter lunch and she's now upstairs sleeping.
Will nip upstairs in a bit and have a shower and get myself changed. Mum should be here at 5 and I need to have Daughter's tea and myself ready for when I leave which should be about 5:30 / 5:45ish to allow for traffic and finding the place!
Am quite nervous....0 -
Afternoon again,
Crazychik my sky goes off today completly!! Canceled it at begining of Jan so kids have already checked and it is still on but there is going to be some major moaning over the weekend!!!!! Dont care, when i got it for £18 for full package didnt mind that but i am not paying £36 what ever quid it is on top of tv licence!! They still get sky sports news through freeview so that will have to do LOL.
But if you are going to lower package they may offer you a deal like they did me for 6 months.
Right i have £1.84 left to last me till monday, have made meat+potatoe pie for tea, tommorow is hm chips and noddles, and sunday is toad in the hole, have plenty of cereal bread ect for snacks and sandwiches, so think i will make it through till monday. But i will be so proud of myself if i do as all the bills have been paid and i havent borrowed money from anyone!!And have paid for ds school trip(£75) and for dh and 3 boys and step son to go to watch england match at derby on tuesday!!( hence reason im broke!!)

good evening all, hubby is at the moment trying to electrocute himself in the kitchen wiring up a new light, you should see the state of the old fitting -(was only 4 yrs old!) but I had smelt burning, but in a kitchen we often do! and it had fused and all burnt inside it. v.v. dangerous! Thank heavens for fuses and stuff!
Havn't read the thread yet but hope it finds you all well (((hugs))) to anyone who wants/needs one.
Off out tonight with 10 girls from work. They are buying me dinner for an early birthday present, we do that for each of us when we go out! So nice cheap chinese for me!
Anyway i'll read up on everyone else now. Take care all and have a great evening xxBBxx
Edit (((penny- pincher and Moggins and DD)))If you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0 -
Hi everyone, I haven't had time to read the thread yet today, and didn't make it yesterday due to being sooooo busy at work and full of cold! Never mind, its the weekend now, and once DS is in bed I will come back and read at my leisure! My other plan for the evening is to sort out all my seeds into tins ready for the allotment. They will be put into categories based on which bed they need to go into (as in a 3 year rotation) This will be a nice calm activity to do - about all I feel up to today!
Hope everyone is ok

Just a quick one from me today - ((((HUGS)))) to Penny-Pincher!!, Miss Moggins and everyone else who needs one.
Anniestar -so glad to hear most of the cats are improving! Please give Livvy a gentle stroke from me (can you tell I like cats too - only got two though.)
Talking of cats, has anyone any advice on what to do when a cat has a scurfy/dandruffy coat? My old chap looks awful atm, expecially if I brush him. I have tried putting a bit of olive oil in his food in the past (it must have been a tip I read about), but he wouldn't eat it!
have a good evening all

Evening everyone :hello:
Get well soon to Little Miss Moggins
((((hugs)))) to all those that need them.
Woohoo, it's the weekend! :j :j :j
I had quite a nice day in the school today. The children were quite sweet, even if a couple of them were quite annoying. The danger of working with 30 youngsters at once, eh?!
I have a bit of a problem regarding my season ticket for my "boys". I've lost it! DH needed it so that he could book tickets for when my boys are playing against Stade Francais in the Quarter Final of the Heineken Cup (v fab rugby competition). I can't find it anywhere in the house! I think that I need to look AGAIN, but I'm really worried because it's my lifeline!
Ok, so not quite lifeline, but it's my bit of sanity. Luckily, we got my season ticket number from last year's season ticket - I keep them and have done ever since I started being a ST holder back in '93
.
Supper tonight is steamed salmon with a white wine and cream sauce from a packet, with new potatoes and steamed veg. I hope that the salmon has defrosted.
I also need to cook one of the yellow sticker quiches from the freezer as we're out tomorrow lunchtime, but no where near anywhere to buy food. A quiche will do nicely, if I can find the cool bag to keep it in.
Have a good evening everyone.
