I've been buying and selling for a few years now and haven't had any problems yet, but maybe i've just been lucky. Everybody just needs to read the descriptions really carefully and check the feedback throughout the listing. There are some good, honest sellers out there but it's like looking for a needle in a haystack trying to find them!
I hope I'm not one.
I pay within seconds of 'winning' but I'm not an a**ole. I'm just s 'shopper' and I'm sure I'm not alone.
Put some trust in buyers - and read their feedback.
This is stupid - I asked for eBayer sellers points of view, got involved, and why? I can pay £5 quid more for what I buy and have no qualms.
This is stupid considering what started it - scammers, and now this.
As a buyer I don't rip people off, I can't. But look at what's being said? It's mad. And get's buyers backs up.0 -
I meant sellers can rip people off. You part with your cash then the item never turns up. Or you buy something and it's not how it's described but you get the blame for it. Or you sell something and the buyer ignores you and doesn't pay. It's hard work finding a good buyer/seller.My mind not only wanders .......... sometimes it leaves completely0

In my case I bought a boxed, very latest model made by a well known manufacturer, brand new, £200+ in Homebase, thermostatic shower unit for only £30 + £5 P&P about 3 weeks ago.
2 weeks before that, £67 got me again brand new & boxed, underfloor heating mat complete with programable timer thermostat control unit (for my soon to be ceramic tiled bathroom floor to keep my toes warm) that again cost £220+ in Homebase.
Had many previous bargains.
Never had a problem as a seller - always make sure I've been paid before I send the goods.
As a buyer, lost out once in about 75 purchases. Cost me £20 - goods just never arrived. There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93

I've been reading this thread with interest and mypersonalpoint of view is..............while the seller is doing nothing wrong, these types of things do put people off.
Yes the bidders should read it properly, but I avoided ebay like the plague for a long time because I was always worried about getting scammed, this one isn't scamming, however some are worded so it is hard to always tell .
I only ventured on there after getting tips from this board and knowing what to look for /avoid.
From a moral point of view, these types of auctions do no-one any favours, and do put people of ebay.
so far I have been happy with my lots and much appreciate the savings I have made..................and I look forward to making more:beer:0 -

Just for fun, you lost what as a buyer again?
Let me out as a seller :rotfl:0 -

I'm a good buyer lady_noluck. Honest. That can be verified. Where's the trust?0 -

Not sure what you are trying to say here. Your command of the English language is rather nebulous.
To expand on my experience of almost 5 years on eBay, I've sold a few items and made a few thousand pounds profit. I've bought around 70 times and saved over £2000 on the very best prices I could have obtained anywhere else.
Losing £20 on 1 transaction that went pear shaped is about 0.2% of all the money that eBay has either made for me or saved me from paying out. There are 10 types of people in the world. ‹(•¿•)›(11)A104.28S94.98O112.46N86.73D101.02(12)J130.63F126.76M134.38A200.98M156.30J95.56J102.85A175.93

Thanks. I'll ignore the responses after this and above.. Even though I needed no benefit of doubt .0
