Christmas costs family with two children 'at least £182'

my daughter will be one year old at christmas so i've just got her some little cheap bits to open :-)
as daughter's birthday is on 18th december and we are going to my parents for christmas, we're not actually putting up the xmas decorations this year. this will save money for the tree and will also save time :-) i can imagine xmas for older kiddies is very expensive...
Christmas for older children does not have to be expensive, I am lucky in that mine realise that pennies are not exactly abundant and adjust their expectations accordingly.
They know that whatever I buy them has been done with love and an awful lot of thought (they have told me when I have felt guilty about not giving them the same as their friends), rather than me trying to buy their love with blingy presents. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Given that unless someone's helping you type you're the only person your side of a keyboard, I would bloomin' well hope so.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Yet you keep getting side-stepped and beaten to all the best houses in your area by other buyers.
Local estate agents don't even contact you because they, like me, think you're a nobhead.

Your neighbour could be MrRI'm pretty sure a neighbour spends at least that or more on a tree and decorations.
Why do I think that? Some baubles were mis-delivered to my home a couple of Xmas's back. They had been shipped from Printemps in Paris. I saw the docket. Heck they were a stupid price for basically shiny balls. (They weren't even nice IMO)
I'm only guessing on spend though, because my neighbour doesn't lower himself to bragging on the internet about how much he spends on trivia.0 -

Ooooops, 4 pages - did I say something contentious?
did your wife leave you?
do your kids not speak to you any more?
do work colleagues turn away when you approach?
has everyone you were ever close to had enough of your nasty little comments and your fantasy land?
The answer to all these questions you were asked is obviously yes.
Thats the reason the thread reached 4 pages.
People are waiting for you to meltdown.

Hehe, no chance.
I live up in the frozen North which MrRee despises. He seems to think we all live in 30K terraces up here and hang around street corners on the dole.
Many of us on here have a nice neighbourhood and good life; we just choose not to shove the details down other people's throat via a forum.
Anyone who chooses to start threads about "me, me, me - how much I spend; how many houses I have, etc" is basically insecure.0
