I'm pretty sure a neighbour spends at least that or more on a tree and decorations.
Why do I think that? Some baubles were mis-delivered to my home a couple of Xmas's back. They had been shipped from Printemps in Paris. I saw the docket. Heck they were a stupid price for basically shiny balls. (They weren't even nice IMO)
I'm only guessing on spend though, because my neighbour doesn't lower himself to bragging on the internet about how much he spends on trivia.0 -

Hehe, no. I didn't.
I did say they weren't very nice in my view. Making them free doesn't make them nicer.0 -
To truly understand a winner, you need to adjust your thinking to think like a winner ...... did it, for one small moment, occur to you that we (the Family) may have taken over the said Hotel for Xmas?
I mean, come on, the women of the family need a rest over Xmas too!
And, to add to the winners mentality ... we have hired 7 lodges - to be together once more.
Think like a winner - not a loser - and things will become possible .... of course, if you are sat around a Tesco Value Chicken in your Council Flat on Xmas day it's hard to think how others may be spending their day, so you come on here slagging others Xmas days off - not nice!
Hey, what's wrong with Tesco value chicken?
Christmas is what you make of it, be that with a Tesco value chicken or with a meal out in a hotel or restaurant...being with family and/or friends is the far more important thing and if that just so happens to be in a hotel, then no worries, at least everyone is together.
I like our family Christmas, ok we don't go overboard but that is how we like it...it was exactly the same when I was married and we were both earning good money (apart from the fact my Christmas sack looked a little healthier, we never could resist at Christmas :rotfl:) but for others, our sort of Christmas would be their kind of hell.
So whether you spend £5000 or £200, if it is what suits you, then I can't see a problem...no jealousy or sarcasm from here to those who wish to spend their Christmas in a different manner and at a different cost to myself and my family....it is whatever works best for you.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
I have the least money in my life to spend at Xmas this year and I'm looking forward to it the most. I would be happy to just have the days off and receive nothing else.0
