  • does anybody know about this bank reclaiming service? they were on the british insolvency website and i've sent off for a claims form. advantage claims say they only charge 10% and i'm happy to pay this. Does anybody have any experience of this?

i know my bank owe me thousands and thousands, but i have an outstanding o/d of 200 with lloyds and my account is in debt collections. i have a parachute account, but am on dodgy ground financially so would prefer to reclaim through a third party, as my situation is not straighforward as the cc and o/d charges i'm trying to reclaim still have big debts on the account and if they get funny, i'd prefer a third party to deal with them, but i'm tired of struggling to repay a grand of debt when i'm owed 1000s in charges.

if not claims financial has anybody claimed through a third party before?

I would never use a third party to claim. They will take most of your refund if you get one as a fee and you could cliam yourself. The banks do not care if it is a third party complaint or not when considering a claim.

Are advantage claims part of claims financial? Have you checked they are registered ? Check them out http://www.claimsregulation.gov.uk/search.aspx

also do you have the web address of this british insolvency website?

To deal with your situation you would be much better off handling it yourself.

A CMC will not deal with your debt or stop Lloyds hassling your for your overdraft or anyone else for that matter. It sounds as though you may have a hardship claim for the current account claim but this is difficult to tell without an idea of your debts/arrears/income etc.

Credit Card charges are relatively easy to reclaim and would be a matter of a couple of letters.

Claims Financial are 25% plus VAT....they dont have their T&Cs online so can't check if they nab the interest off you as well.

I don't know Advantage Claims at all so if you have a web addy that would be helpful.

If you want to deal with it yourself and stay in control then we will help you all the way.

Is it this one ? http://www.bankcharges.biz/about.html

They take 10% of the charges plus all the interest. If your claim is 1000's going back to 2001 then this could well be a good few hundred. Some of their other companies (why do they have so many?) take 25% + VAT (same as claims financial)

Personally, I would do it yourself :)

I have had a call from a company saying they will get all my business and personal account charges back for 49.99 each account and i dont have to do a thing apart from give some information to them.

    Would anyone advise this??

  • nope - they cannot do anything for you on this subject matter than you cannot do yourself.

Nope :D Do it yourself. Personal account charges are on hold anywayso you wouldnt see a return for a long time and its only a matter of a couple letters.

Which company is it? Also I suspect theres a lot more charges to come on top of the upfront fee.

Either that or you will merely receive a 'claims pack', which consists of a few template letters identical to the ones on .......er....here!!

As all the other posters have implied....DO NOT TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGE POLE

...when you can do it for yourself for free, and ensure the same results as they maybe guarantee for a fee of £49.99
