  • Today I received a phone call from a company saying they are reclaiming my bank charges. This lady sounded like she was from Vietnam?? She asked me for my card details - which I gave her my name and expirey date- but alarm bells rang when she asked for the 16 digit number on the card! I asked - how did I know she was who she said she was and the she proceeded to put onto her supervisor- Neil Johnson- who was to give me a password. I asked him for a phone number- which he gave me- and I asked for a web site -which he gave- also saying that they were part of the Ministry of Justice. He wasn`t very nice when I said I would look it up and get back to him- He insisted on a time when I was to ring him! After this I rang my bank`s head office and they informed me that they had received a warning email about companies like this calling customers and they would never ask for details over the phone. Has anyone else received these calls?????? This is mt first post as I`ve just joined today- hope this is in the right place? I can` t seem to find my way around the site yet. Thanks xx:mad:

  • They are con artists! They phoned my Granny a few weeks ago RE Bank Charges, and then asked for her card number! Stupidly she gave them this, and then realised what she had done and refused to give them her security code. The guy became rather narky so she hung up the phone. She was in a panic for about days then they phoned back, again wanting the security number. She told them no and that she can claim any charges back for free to which the man then replied "well I already have your card number so shouldn't take me that long to figure out the security code!" Needless to say she cancelled the card with the bank and informed them of this!

I can't wait for the day they phone me with this offer  wont be a polite "No I'm not interested" that's for sure :rotfl:
  • Oh no, how horrible, I'm glad your Granny realised before it was too late. Oh I hope they call me back now!

    Hi,
I have had an offer from yorkshire bank in regard to my bank charges which i have accepted with thanks, but the thing is i had a previous debt with them in the form of an over draft which i am paying of weekly, the bank has said that they are going to transfer the money of the refund directly for the credit of the account that holds the debt, which i have no problem with, but to retreave this bank charges i went with a company and the company now want there payment for completing this, which i have asked the yorkshire bank if they can forward payment from the offer to this company as i cannot afford to pay it, as me and my husband are out of work, on benefits, and the offr from the bank was done on the grounds of financial hard ship. The bank have said they cannot do this as the contract was between me and the company and they are unable to assist, this is causing me great distress as i am now in more debt as i cannot pay this. Please can any one advise me on what to do. what is the point of me making a pledge of financial hardship if im going to get further into debt?

Ask the bank reclaims company for their correspondence on the offer that they have received from their claim for you. Since they didn't complete it and presumably their claim is still pending then how can you pay them for something they haven't actually succeeded in?

Which company was it that you used ?

Did the company actually put forward your hardship claim?

How much was the payout from the bank and how much was the total claim, also how much is this company's bill for ?

Really the claim isnt concluded, as any payment is an INTERIM payment pending the outcome of the test case, so really the companies work is not done....we need to check their T&C's.

    Hi all,

Has anyone heard of/had dealings with a company called UPI UK LTD? They claim to be regulated by the Ministry of Justice, but I can't seem to Google them?
