  • I have been offered money from Barclays but a lot less than what i am owed but as it is over £5000 it is too high for small claims in Northern Ireland. Told by court house that i will need a civil bill and a solicitor. Can't seem to find one who deals with these cases. Thinking of going to a no win no fee company but don't know of any reputable companies.

    Can anyone help?

For the above reason I have removed the website name and ebay link so these sites aren't given any publicity on MSE.

No reflection on you sunnydays, just policy.

As above Psykipup, no reflection on you.
  • Can someone please explain why of the 3 companies listed on the helpsite two of them charge 25 and 40% of the reclaim respectively the third is a firm of solicitors and as always, working out what they charge is a mystery.

Claims companies are villified on many of the boards as bandits and vultures ripping people off with unqualified and un-authorised practices and there have been some notable examples such as vickers anderson but there arealso some (note the some not many) companies that are fully regulated by the dca, registered for data protection and don't charge a lot of money. Why doesn't the forum put these on the site instead of someone charging 40%

Yep, youve guessed it, for those who don't know, I run a claims company

    Hi there,

has anyone had any experience of using ****** to reclaim their charges?

they claim to operate a 'no-win no-fee' service and ask for 10% comission on all funds refunded including interest.

let me know your thoughts as i would like to use them, but know nothing about them.

    thanks
    tom:confused:
  • Hello sotonkona,

They are just trying to get their hands on your money, there is no reason why you cant do it yourself.

I have just joined this excellent site and from doing alot of reading all the information you need to claim your bank charges back is here.

YOU DON'T NEED THESE PEOPLE !!!
Lloyds TSB - £1979 thank you
Bank of Scotland - £650 awaiting court date
  • i have seen a few online and they only charge 25% of the money u get back from the bank.
    its no win no fee.
i know i can do it myself but i don't have the time.
its it really worth getting them to do it for me, has any1 else used them?

Good morning all, I have just sent off forms for a company to reclaim my bank charges, as I simply do not have the time to persue it myself, you know the loop, one month you go overdrawn, get paid withdraw it all, then the charges kick in again. Just in those olone it comes to £2000+ then there is not payed DD and SO's. I am told it will take roughly 3-4 months, but am hoping to get something back, and yes the company will take 25% of what I get back.

If you really don't want to do this yourself you would be better going to the Financial Ombudsman who don't charge.

A number of people have used their service and been successful in their claim as seen in the Success Stories and this thread...

Simon...really its three letters send a specified intervals and a couple hours one evening adding up the charges....is that worth 25% !

Step 1 : send DPA letter to get list of charges (10 mins and a stamp)

Step 2: Add the charges up (maybe an hour)

Step 3: Post first letter (10 mins)

Step 4: 14 days later post 2nd letter. (10 mins)

Depending which bank it is natwest/rbs you'll get a cheque then

else step 5: enter court claim (online - an hour max)

step 6: wait for your money

so 2.5 hours - your claim is 2k plus of which 25% is £500 ! nice hourly rate if you can get it :)
