Not if the single person is capable of reading and understanding the process :)

Seriously, why have a dog and bark yourself ?
  • have read all the processes myself now and seems easy enough, just need the address to send the letter to barclays

I've been thinking about claiming back charges on my account for quite a while now and have been browsing the forum looking at some of the stories about taking on the bank.

I currently bank with Yorkshire bank and have been doing so for the last 9 years.

But more to the point, my money management and how poor it is, I have recently been making a concious effort to really try and pull myself out of the red, or as most call it - The overdraft!

Off the top of my head i'd say my charges over the last 6 years would easily be pushing the £3,000 to £4,000 bracket and whilst I have always accepted my poor money skills and my own frivilous spending are the main reason for me getting spanked with charges I do feel I am being explioted with the quite high and unfair charges.

In fact I rung my branch late last year to actually complain, but got nothing back but a "The managers not available" & "The area manger has rung back and declined to refund you" excuses, I was prety peeved.

Even my explaining to the bank of how I couldn't get out of not paying charges as it was the charges that were keeping me in the red in the first place were met rather unsympathetically. Thanks for your help YB! Bah.

Anyway, after my little rant, I would just like to ask the forum members of what they think of getting assistance from a company who seem to specialize in this type of thing, who say they'll claim my charges for me, I do nothing, just wait for the refund! I work long hours andd this would really suit me.

Obviously at a charge, but was just curious on members thoughts.

    Thankyou in advance

I work long hours but this has really not been too difficult.

I personally would not let anyone else get their grubby hands on my money, when I can have it all to myself.

I plan to pay off my debts, and am currently dreaming about a pair of Jimmy Choos Curtesy of Fat West, but I don't think there will be enough left over.

    Oh well I can dream.

    Thanks for that Mish.

You say it hasn't been to difficult, I was just wondering how long this type of thing takes? Y'know from actually making a claim to the bank paying up.

    Just for my curiousity!

Also, anyone with infomation on using 'professional' help would be very welcome...

P.S - I hope you get those nice shoes Mish!
