Awww, no - don't let them get to you, they're bad men!

Can you speak to the neighbour who hired them? Do you know / get on with them, and would they defend you?

    Is it criminal damage? Police?

I don't know, I'm just asking - anyone in the know?
  • I cant give any advice really - but make sure you go out now and snap a few shots of it - so you have evidence in case you decide to take action, as I wonder if you could pursue him for damages? Perhaps the action of you going out an snapping it will make him think you will take it further so he may apologise?

Go out and start doing the gardening... It's probably time to give the roses their winter haircut :) pick up the cables and move them off your drive, and start doing the pruning. Fill your drive up with junk (maybe now is a good time to sort stuff for a tip run) so there isn't room for him to take it over, and then speak to your neighbours when they get home. Or your could start pressure washing your drive... After all, as it's a nice day its a good chance to get stuff done outside.
  • As you can't reason with the workman himself, have a word with the neighbour, they are responsible for workmen and if they are causing you a nuisance or damaging your property - you have a right to complain.

Sounds an ignorant little so and so to me.

Won't the mud wash off the plants as soon as it rains?

Is there a telephone number on the side of his vehicle? You could try ringing to establish if he is self-employed. If he is not, then there'll be someone with whom you can take this further.

If the charmer is self-employed, I'd be very tempted - once I'd photograped all the damage he's caused - to scrape up the remains of my plants with a good deal of mud, and leave them on the passenger seat of his vehicle. Maybe with a small note saying he's welcome to take away the rubbish he created. ;)

Definitely inform your neighbour they've employed an idiot.
  • have you got any burly male friends who could back you up? I'd be tempted to wash the windows upstairs and acidentally drop the bucket in his direction, use the cold water cleaning method of course.

It's horrid not being listened to and being patronised, he sounds like an !!!!!hole.
