I'm glad you are feeling a little calmer0

I like your positive attitude, I would still be upset and angry but then again I can hold grudges for years:o

When our neighbour was doing up the outside of their house, their workmen broke our guttering, we spoke to the neighbour and told him and he got them to fix it. That is the decent thing to do. And the workmen were always polite and said hello etc..
We also had bits of plaster all over our back garden and splattered on the windows so I know how annoying it is as we had to clean all that ourselves, bits of it still doesn't come off the window. The neighbour did offer to clean it though but that would have meant leaving the back gate open as we didn't relish his idea of climbing over the fence!
Are the neighbours just at work? Could you not call round to them this evening and just explain about the workman? Just say that you are not complaining but you asked them not to tip the mud on your side and to be careful with where they placed the digger and they just replied with foul language. It would have been better if you had taken photo's before you cleaned it up to show them
He is there to work on their property and he should not be near your boundary, his attitude stinks.
I can understand you being upset with the way he spoke to you, no-one likes to get confrontational. If you OH says anything though it might make it worse, so just speak to the neighbours.
There's no point saying anymore to the workman as he doesn't give a monkeys, he seems to think it's okay to make a mess in the neighbours garden and not clean up.
To those saying it's just a bit of mud, it's not is it, it's the attitude of the guy when asked if he could keep the mess to the neighbours side - he became aggresive. The cables trailing on the garden and the equipment almost touching the car. He has no respect for the OP's property. It doesn't matter who they are working for, damaging the neighbours property in the process is not acceptable. Don't see why the OP should HAVE to go out.
In hindsight, perhaps it would have been better to make a joke of it and say oh I hope you're going to clean up after yourselves or something to that effect.0 -
I'd be cheesed off if I came out to find workmen dumping stuff on my drive without asking - no ifs or buts or if damage had been caused - I'd be cheesed off with the intrusion and assumption alone! You just don't go around plonking yer building apparatus on the neighbour's properties without asking (either the neighbour or the builders themselves).Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

Holding grudges rots you not the intend culprit, I read that somewhere:rotfl::rotfl:
I know its not a nice thing to do to myself :rotfl: It is only if it to do with anyone I care for deeply though.
Next time I get angry and upset over something I will think of you Victory and how short a time it took to calm down and hopefully it will work, Thank you0 -
If they carry on being rude and aggressive, and ignoring requests to keep stuff off your property - I'd actually (well, ok actually I'd get my very tall fella to go around - he's soft as clarts but people just clock the size of him) find the local police non-emergency number - and ring them and explain what's happening, that they're dumping stuff on your property when asked not to and that they're being very aggressive in their manner towards you and making you feel quite intimidated.... depends where you live, but round here I know it's the sort of thing they'd send one of their PCSOs to pop round to have a word over (but our local police are pretty pro-active in that respect).Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

i really think involving the police for a wee bit of dirt on plants is a bit excessive......and a total waste of tax payers money. Op had a go at them, as she states she was in a very heightened state, possibly hysteria by the sounds of it. Workmen have moved the items and not responded anymore. Story is finshed, no need to do anything else0

OP I have every sympathy with you, their behaviour was unacceptable full stop.Anyone who thimks that sort of language is alright should go and do it in front of a copper, that would soon show them how alright it is!
More than one way to skin a rabbit,I would be finding out what company this said person is supposed to own and whether he is legal, sounds the sort of idiot who isnt.
