New 1% Cashback Visa Card

Just applied and was accepted. The 'Processing your authorisation' line made me laugh - surely the worlds largest bank can get the words application and authorisation right? Maybe not.

I have posted this on a different thread before actually coming across this one.
I had applied for Citibank Platinum Visa (1% cashback) online two weeks ago. A few days later, I rec'd their credit card agreement forms but they are for Citi Classic Plus Credit card. What I'd like to know is are they one and the same cards? Especially do I get the 1% cashback?

I have also received forms for the Citi Classic Plus, I presume that the 1% card is based on this card, but with the cashback as an added extra. As mentioned in my post above there are seperate t&cs for the cashback.

Although it is not as obvious as it could be, I think you will be getting the cashback.

Hmmm. Is it worth getting one of these cards? I mean, yes they pay 1% cashback = I've got a Smile Gold card just now which pays 0.5% so I'd be doubling it - but are Citi a nightmare to deal with? I've applied for it anyway, but am perhaps having second thoughts! I've not had any problems with my credit cards that I've needed to contact the provider about in the past, and I don't really want to start now!!

Thoughts anyone?

Exactly the same happened here. No mention of the 1% cashback in the t&c, applied for the platinum, the letter mentions the classic plus

If you check the website - the platinum is the only one mentioning the cashback. The classic does not.

If this is the case, they can stick their card where the sun don't shine. Will have to ring them i thinks. Sneeky if they are switching you to different cards. I applied for the platinum for sure. I still have the link on my favourites

I sent off my credit agreement yesterday so I guess I'll find out, wont be for a week or so though .

My forms came just before Easter - the card was named as "Platinum" so I presume I'm getting the cash-back card. I've sent the form back and await the arrival of the card with interest.

used link and got card after several weeks wait - found no mention of cash back so rang them - they said I didn't have a cash back card! :mad:

I applied for this as well, was told my application was sucessful, but sent forms for classic plus.
Contacted call centre to be told firstly that no cards had cash back, and another time to be told that only selected platinum cards had cash back.
Decided I was getting no sence from the call centre and put in a letter. I recieved no response, so I complained by letter.
Again no response, so the Financial Services Ombudsman has had a copy of the letter, with a complaint form - that should wake them up, and at least get me an explanation and apology!
