  • A good day to report today.. Diet wise I've been very hood with the exception of 2 bottles of alcoholic ginger beer. But other than that I think all good. Haven't paid in cheque- so on list for tomorrow. I've got lots of washing done today and I'll nip and get some very minimalistic shopping in tomorrow- milk and tinned tomatoes. Going to go to mums and eat left overs tomorrow. Got cleaning to do timpetus but other than that it's pretty clear so I plan to plan!! Meals for every day in jan for a start. Car share plan. eBay sales plan.
Must remember to borrow carpet cleaner from mum and sort bedroom
Carpet.. It's supposed to be cream and is covered in mud from the dogs!!!
Must also think about making savings on dog food.. It was one of my tasks at the beginning of this diary that I've never got round to!

  • Thanks Guys... I'm determined that this will be a mSE wedding - ive started looking on ebay for a dress - I'm not spending 100s on a dress when theres plenty of worn once dresses out there that would like another turn!!
we're off to pub today to see if they hire the room out above as theres a hotel next door so it woudl be perfect and hopefully cheaper than an actual hotel do.
Goign to SW tonight - fingers crossed i've not put weight on.
Ok off to tidy house!! back later!

  • Hi NMS - I am actually now looking forward to a nice healthy dinner, I feel properly lethargic and bloated with all of the over indulgence over Christmas. I had chronic indigestion and heartburn in the night for hours - that will teach me to eat rubbish.

I have stood on the scales this morning and am currently at 11st 7 which is probably about 2lb on - not too bad :o

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and I wish I had been more MSE for my wedding - such a lot of money on one day, well done for being realistic. Not nice to start married life in shed loads of debt :money:
    Just keep swimming!
  • Hi nms - I just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying reading your diary, and congratulations on the engagement.
Good luck with everything over the next year. You sound incredibly motivated, which is helping me to stay motivated as I really need to get onto the weightloss/mse/wedding bandwagon over the next few days.

  • Have just read your diray so wanted to say hello

In some ways you sound quite similar to me, ebaying, goals to pay off your debts, SW etc.

Have you used the snowball calculator from this site to see which of your credit cards you should target first? I think you're doing the right thing focussing on one card and it's always such a boost when one is paid off - the snowball will be able to direct you onto the next one to pay!

I've always found ebay and Amazon sales really good over Christmas - lots of bored people looking online and kids with money burning holes in their pockets. My best ever sales last year came between Christmas and New Yr.

I do SW at home, haven't bothered with the classes but was thinking of joining one next year. Do you think they're worth it? I did go years ago and always felt like a bit of a spare part during the group bit - I can't cook so have no recipes to share :o

Keep going with your diary and a big congratulations on your engagament!!

  • Hi everyone who's popped in to say hello - I've not checked in for a couple of days so it was very lovely to come back and find people had posted.
Would def 100 percent recommend joining a club ( sw) if you can go every week. I made myself the promise that I would get weighed every week- whether I knew it would be good or bad and I have stuck to that! My sw leader is fantastic - I have been before and the leader wasn't as good. But she is really supportive and sends texts and emails to keep me on track through the week- it really helps me. So my advice would be definitely join and give it a go if you can get to a group evey week- also when people are really motivated and lose a lot of wright it really motivates me and helps me so that's another bonus.
I have sorted my wedding venue and am really pleased with what we've got and the cost. It's going to be £1800 and that's for a sir down meal for 51 people and a buffet in the evening for 100. My parents are giving us money towards the wedding which will cover that.
I've seen a dress I like on eBay and they go for around 1-200 pounds on eBay which I think will be ok.
I'm hopefully going to sort the church out tomorrow.
I've Been really good on my diet- I was down a pound this Wednesday which I had put on last week - although I think it was the jeans I was wearing lady week and not wearing this week.
I've been on track since and am going to be walking fog an hour tomorrow so that will help.
I looked at wedding cars - £500 ha there's no way!! I'll get a taxi I think!!! Or find someone with s Bice car and put ribbons on it!
I've not spent any money over the last few days except on eBay to get me a laptop charger - I can't type on this little phone!!! The charger was 5.50 and should be here soon so I'll vr able to get back to doing my spread sheet and daily logs on here!
My target is to lose 3 stone by my wedding in July.. It's a lot so I'm not going to kill myself but am feeling very deturmined so there's always a chance!!

I know what you mean.., we're going to be in shed loads of debt still by July but I'm not going to get into any more debt by getting married. I had planned to wait til Jun 13 but mum and dad have offered to give us money towards it - because I was planning a Mse wedding anyway I'm hoping that the money they give us will cover everything so that would just be amazing. Have decided on a date in July and am now on a money saving - super organisation and planning mission between now and then!!! Watch this space!

  • Happy new year x x
Had a lovely meal out last night for new year. Was hoping to drag oh out to have a look at a couple of churches today so I can book the church and get that done and dusted but judging by his current state of hang over I think I may need to postpone until tomorrow. We are both back in work on Tuesday so today and tomorrow will be spent relaxing , getting everything sorted work wise.
So today I'll sort any washing that's needs washing and drying. Check my bank, check out what we have in for sandwiches for lunches this week. Have a look in the freezer and see if I can plan some meals from what we have.
I received the lead for my lap top yesterday!! Just in time to sort out a spreadsheet for January.. I'll get onto that this afternoon.
