 thought I'd pop on to say hi!
I am in the same boat as you with the debt & also the weight loss!
I am doin SW too & I hope to get to target by June 2012 for those free meetings LOL
Do you also find it quite hard at this time of year to be good food wise - those darn mince pies are sooooooooooo tempting!!!
I am just going for a little bit of damage limitation with regards weight this month I think it will be easier come January - he he this is what I am telling myself anyway
Dxxx
Hi DOllyrocker thanks for popping in.. come back whenever you get chance!! I've been doing sw since may and I feel like i've not really given it 100% i have got to my 10 % target of losing 1stone 7 twice and each time i get there i go straight back up the next week. This week I'm goign to really focus and try and get that 2.5 pounds I put on last week back off... I really want to get into a size 14 again - I'm comfortable in a 16 now but realistically I have about 4 stone to go and I'd like to get there by June too... so maybe we can spur each other on?! My sw woman said something that really hit home last week - she said that lots of people have put on all the weight the on they have lost over christmas - she said that there is nothing that tastes good enough to make up for the sinking feeling you'll get on the scales when you've put all your weight on and I thought that really that's true - If i put it all back on it woudl jsut make all the £5 i've been paying everyweek a total waste of money. And I don't want to avoid having my photos taken all the time cause i look so hideous.
So I'm 32 in june and I want to have lost at least 2.5 stone more which will give me a total of 4 stone loss. I reckon it can be done!!!
in terms of the debt I am keeping this diary so that i can stay focussed and try and make the right decisions rather than being impulsive and pretending it doesn't really matter. I know what you mean about mince pies - I absolutely love them and I think my 2.5 pounds on last week may well have been mince pie related!!! so I will not have anymore until christmas eve - when I shall have 2 and thats my promise... I will report back if I break my promise but now i have said it on here I'm pretty good at keeping my word!! pop in again and see me soon xxBaby due 4th May 2013

Sunday 18th December... what have i done today!!
Well I'm pleased to day I have had a productive day ( by my standards on a Sunday!)
I woke up with sore throat and cold and a bit of a temperature which has made me feel groggy .. I get the feeling i'll make it till i finish work on Thursday and then get really poorly!! ahh well..
I have had plenty of juice which is good for my diet and will hopefully help my body with the whole flushing out of toxins causing my cold.. here's hoping!!
I Had sw lunch and then made a roast ( kinda) for tea - lots of veg plus gammon. So no syns for my tonight which means hopfully things shoud be looking up tomorrow.
I had writtten in my diary ( this thing here) that i was goign to do 30 mins on the bike.. and although i didn't want to because i felt rough it appears I also don't like the thought of not doing what i have said i will on here.. ah ha... so i did and now i feel pleased with myself - hurrah!!
albeit it was a gentle 30 mins as I still have a temperature!!
My Oh tried to tempt me with crisps ( my favourite treat in the world) and was unsuccessful... my problem with crisps is that if I have one pack I can't leave the rest of the packs in the multi pack until the entire multi pack has gone. So made it through !! when i say he tried to tempt me i do only mean that he offered me a pack as he was about to stuff down a treat.. i only had to say a quick no and all was well!
I tidied all the clothes up in the bedroom so the house is now completely straight ( except for the spare room - that will be a job for christmas hols) . Have also put 2 loads of washing in..
I have a gammon and pepper loaf in the oven which which will be really in about 10 mins and that will sort my lunch for tomorrow and Tuesday out. I've also made some veg soup which i'll have also and will mean I've had my free or super free what every it is allocation of the food i;m supposed to have each day.
I have been on my banking and things are not looking so hot!!! however i have paid £150 of my rbs card which was 916 and is now 766. Ive found it very difficult trying to keep my head focussed on all the different cards and loans etc that i've got so i' ve decided to focus completely on this one card and see how much I can clear off it - this one my rbs. The plan is to sell stuff on ebay and eveyrthign i make knock off my rbs. I have 5 items sold today on ebay which come to about £20. I have some other stuff to list but am n two minds about listing - half of me thinks that there will be loads of people bored over chrsitams and listing this week woudl be a good plan - on the other hand i thought there will be lots of skint people and also market flooding due to unwanteed christmas presetns so maybe I should wait until jan..
Will give that some more thought!!Baby due 4th May 2013

thanks for dropping in - youre right about lunches they can end up costing a fortune!! I'm planning to be we;; organised this week with lunches!! mainly for diet purposes as I don't want to be eating rubbish.
off to do some banking..xx
I've decided to take out £10 on a Sunday night for my lunches for the week and leave my card at home unless I'm doing something in the evening. I think, because I pretty much use my card instead of taking out cash, that I have no idea how much money is in my account or how much I'm actually spending. So, if I take out a tenner, I can spend what I need and any extra can go in my savings pot!

thought i'd add a bit of background around my debts so that i can keep a track better..
I currently have a range of debts... i got myself into a right mess with loans etc, some of which was avoidable and some of which was due to really difficult circumstances 5 years ago when i seperated from my x I had to take out loans to buy him out of the house we bought together and things have just got worst since then. the following isn't an accurate breakdown - i'll try and post an accurate one as the bils come through but at the moment.
CC1 - JS - 6652
cc2 tesco 1500
cc3 mbna 10100
cc4 barclaycard 10800
cc 5 rbs 766
cc6 santandar 4600
loan santandar 4700
this totals about 40k of debt. I have a mortgage of 183 k about 550 per month interest only and I can make all my minimum payments however that doesn't leave much and I want to hurry up and get these things paid off.
JS Tesco and rbs are all high interest and the others are low - but the others are only interest free until march or april.
so my first task is to get rid of the rbs card through ebay sales and cutting down on the rest of my budget ( food shopping is an area where i can really do this!) i'm goign to concentrate - through the pad thread on trying to pay a little bit off this card as often as poss!!Baby due 4th May 2013

Hi guys, do you think there is a link between debt and weight issues, there seem to be quite a few of us that wish to lose a few pounds and have debts
For me it is that viscious circle that I get fed up of being in debt so I eat and then I feel bad for eating and so I want to spend money
I did WW for a few years and lost nearly 3 stone but I don't like the new plan  I have always been intrigued by SW but it looks so bloomin complicated. I love bread, if they did a diet that involved living off toast made from crusty bread - I would be there! Just out of interest, what is gammon and pepper loaf? It sounds nice, is that allowed on SW?
Keep up your vitamin C if you have a cold. Ribena is a good one for vitamin C (light obviously)
I personally think it might be best to leave ebay for a couple of weeks, if you list anything tonight or tomorrow it won't sell for much as I can't see there being lots of people online bidding on Christmas Day and Boxing Day next week. Also after that time, I would think the market will be flooded for a bit with lots of unwanted presents
But I could be wrong as I am not an ebay expert. Just keep swimming!0 -

hi ... i'm not sure if theres a link but certainly i think my debt has been partly caused by not being organised and having lots of take aways which pile the pounds on and cost a fortune!!
If you're not keen on WW try SW i've found the plan really easy - you can't have bread its true - but actually i've found that i'm not nearly as tired without eating bread . you can have 2 pieces a day if you really want sandwiches but i would really suggest you give sw a go.. theres no measureing or weighing and you can eat as much as you want of things like potaots pasta rice chicken veg fruit etc so shouldn't be hungry... I'm not on commission honest!! the groups are really helpful too.
Gammon and pepper loaf is easy peasy - its literally 6 eggs whisked up with one chopped red pepper in it and some gammon ( already cooked) and then baked in the oven in a loaf tin for 40 mins. I then slice it up and take it cold for lunch its really filling and free on the sw plan so if i wanted i could eat the whole thing! .
think i will definitaly take your advice on ebay sales.. I had some stuff end today which i need to send off in the next few days..off to bed .. fingers crossed this cold has vanished tomorrow morning!;)Baby due 4th May 2013

Hey there Nomore,
Well you sound a lot cheerier than a few days ago, despite your cold, so well done you!
The weight loss is always tricky at this time of year...as others have mentioned the best you can hope for is to lose a bit of weight beforehand to act as a bit of a 'buffer'. I always do this in Nov and Dec myself; I lose about 4 pounds, so that the weight I put on over xmas is kind of cancelled out.
But you sound like you are doing really well saying no to people. I used to be a bit bigger than I am now, I found that if you keep politely refusing, people eventually get the message and stop trying to tempt you.
I noticed they were often the people who gave me the whole 'You look ill, stop losing weight' speech when I got down to a size 12 and the 'healthy' BMI category! Very unhelpful and sometimes I suspect it's actually all about their hangups!
And yes, I think there is definitely a link between weight and debt....not for everyone, but I think for me it was to do with a lack of forward planning/general organisation. For me, it was easy to bury my head in the sand, both with how much was on my credit card, and how many calories are in chocolates and cake! It was only when I started educating myself about food and exercise about 10 years ago that the weight started to come off. 260 calories in a chocolate bar didn't seem so appealing once I realised how long you have to spend on the treadmill to burn it off!
Agreed about Ebay - I have just sold a couple of bits but I am going to wait until new year now to list some more stuff.0 -
I defo think there is a link.
I used to spend between 10 & 15 a day on just picking up rubbish to eat in work & magazines!!!!!!! eeeeeeeeeeeek how bad is that!
Its just if you dont plan you set yourself up to spend a fortune cos fast food aint cheap is it.
