My first diary.. time to get in control

Well today is wednesday and I've done my last bit over extra work until the 11th Jan.. part of me is jumping for joy as i'm tired out and need a break - the other half is thinking the extra money i get from my second job really helps.. ah well will have to be extra careful over christmas.
I have spent £5.77 today on food - stir fry stuff on the way home from work( i took chicken out yesterday and its defrosted so had to use it up.
I've been to sW and sad to say ive put 2.5 pound on - need to get on track this week and get it off!!
Tomorrow - I have shopping being delivered - I'm going to go to the shop and get birthday card for mum plus a gift, something for my brother and dad and thats everyone sorted then - hurrah!!
I sent ebay stuff off today ( the bits that had been paid) so feeling positive about that. I have 4 other items with bids on which I'm pleased about - it won't be loads but every little helps!!
I also recieved a cheque form my energy provider first utlitily for my duel fuel discount - it was £234 so i've put that straight into my account - I haven't accounted for it anywhere in my budget so all being well when it clears I'm going to pay it off RBS.
BEST of all its payday tomorrow - thank goodness!!!
I'm going to be in the house 6-8pm tomorrow night to wait for the shopping so I'm going to spend a good chunk of time sorting out jan budget - reflecting on Decembers spending from my spending spreadsheet!!
PLan for tomorrow- go to work
wait in for shopping and do a meal plan tomorrow night
look at bank and pay what i can off rbs
try and get to shops to sort out remaining christmas gifts.

feeling absoultely wiped out today.. its been a long day at work - I got in at 615 then shopping came made tea ate tea and now just want to go to bed - its 9.30pm!
What have i done to help my debt.. not a lot - I have taken photos of my mileage so I can put a claim in at work. I have bought OHs guitar - £120 and I have been on internet banking to try and sort out money but my lap top has given up! great - It just won't turn on. I think its the power lead thats broken so will have a look in work tomorrow and see if theres one there, using OH laptop tonihgt but I can't update my spending diary as its on my laptop! was goign to go to M and S tonight and sort out some presents but i'm so tired its untrue! I'll have to finish work early tomorrow as not got a card for mum yet and need to get her a gift...
Am really looking forward to this weekend just relaxing. Going to sort out payments of RBS on saturday as i want to make sure i've bought presetns first. Going to See oH nanna on saturday and near here theres a market tha sells cheap dog bones so will stock up which will hopefully be cheaper than our usual dog chew shop!!Baby due 4th May 2013

Hiya, the exact same thing has happened to me a few times...do you by any chance have an A*er laptop?
Most laptop leads are fairly cheap on ebay, or if you want to spend more, there are a couple of companies online that sell laptop leads that are guaranteed for a couple of years.

well i'm goign to have a rant - in the hope that it will help me sleep tonight rather than goign to sleep cross..!!
Long day in work but thank goodnes its finally firday - have worked 12 long days without a break and it has seemed like foreever and stressful too at work with it. I finished early today as I had to go and get mm a gift- i found something i htink she will love and it was £110 with a 30 percent discount so costed about 77.. which is ok i had budgeted 50 and I have some extra cash from my pay so its not too much of a problem. I also managed to buy my dad a christmas present and mums christmas present which means I have only to get somethign small for oh - socks or somethign as I ve got him a guitar and somehting for my brother -likely vouchers then chrsitmas is sorted. got stuck in traffic for 50 mins trying to get out of the car park whcih was a pain and also realised when i got home that i forgot to get her a card. Theres no way im going to the shops over the weekend - suiside!! so I decided to go back out tonihgt. I went to next as i needed some jeans - my jeans are all massive as i have lost weight however trying clothes on made my feel like !!!!. I looked dreadful in everything i tried on - like a giant christmas pudding. I got some size 16 jeans whcih were a little big but look much better than the ones i have at home thats £30 spent and i aslo got a red jumper . HOWEVER looking in the mirror made me feel so dreadful - I've decided to write in my diary - then when i feel awful and i go to fill myself with rubbish I shall read this and hopefully remmber how dreadful I looked and not stuff myself! I really must do somethign about my weight its no good just abling along putting on and then losing.. I put 2.5 pounds on this week when I weighed in so i need to lose that at least - and along with my record of spednign and addressing my lack of control with money I am going to record on my diary each day how i do with my diet - enough is enough - Its no good whinging and wining about it - that wont help me lose weight will it!!!!
So i coudl start my increasing my fluid intake tonihgt - instead of skulking off to bed!! I'll go and get a pint of water when i have finished typing.
So that was one bout of feeling rubbish... next i fill up with petrol only to find i havent got my nectar card - so as if its no bad enough paying an extortionate amount for my diesel because i'm not oranised i don't get any benifits either...
#
then I get home - oh has taken the doglets out and little doglet jumps on the sofa - not the oe with the dog throw on to collect all the mud but the other one .. and worst of all over my pink blanket that i like to snuggle under when ive had a bad day - so it and the sofa are covered in mud.
Whilst buying a card for my mum ( which took 5 mins) i thought about my oh - he always gets his nan a card but there were no cards with nan on - she likes nan and not grnadma or gran - however i managed to find one which had nan and grandma etc on ( all the words on the front) and then a thing inside that says somethign about it measnign love whichever word. I thoght as we are goign tomororrw to see her no doubt there will be a mad panic in the morning saying - we ave to get a card, then well be stuck in traffic etc. so I picked it up - and he said ( not thanks) its horrible she wont' like it as it says grandma on it.
I knew this... but it was the best Sainsbirys had!!! And he already has a card for her... So that made me cross. even though i knew it was horrid i thought it was beter than no card.
So the mud the card the fatness the traffic have all done my head in.. and I knwo in the grand scale of things they are all stupid and i feel a wally for moaning when there are people who are poorly or who have someone in their family whose poorly at chrismas... I just wnated to vent my frustration... all of which is really at myself.
Bit of a plan.... OH bought an excersixe bike ( it was 2nd hand and £40 and he budgetted for it -i knew what a dragon i have become about money when he came to me with a breakdown of his account to show me he could afford the bike!!) so tomorrow morning i will go on for 30 mins before I get a shower - itw ill start my day off well and hopefully give me a kick up the bum to watch my diet!!
2. On Monday night late so its not busy I'll take the horrd card back and get a refund - it was only £2 but i can get some stir fry stuff for tuesday nights tea - always helps to have stir fry the night before a weigh in.
3. i'll clean all the mud off the sofa tomorrow and put the throws on to make things look at bit nicer.
4. I'll take some time this weekend to get myself organised - I'm rushing around all the time and i dont cope well when i feel so stressed!!
off to get that water...!Baby due 4th May 2013

Yes its Ac*er... I think i might have a lead in work - if not i'll get one on ebay will make a note of my spending and add it to my excel sheet once i can get back onto my computer. I have my oh laptop but it does my head in as the curser moves all the time which means i end up writing things in the midle of a paragraph i have already written!!!
Quick question you may know the answer to ...is there a policy on mentioning stores makes etc? lots of people put mr T or Mr S instead of tesco and I just write what ever they are... should I be naming them in code too?
I really want a mac... i looked at them today in the shop... its not goign to happen for about 10 years but hey.. thats my ambition!!!!Baby due 4th May 2013

I have no idea - I just do it whenever I am mentioning a company to be on the safe side, but tbh I don't think it matters much.
You sound like you've had a horrible day, poor you. I nearly had a row with my boss tonight but kept my lip buttoned instead. :lipsrseal
You did very well not to tell your OH to shove that card where the sun don't shine, I hate fussy relatives....she should be pleased she's getting a card!!

well i didn't write in my diary for the first time since i started it yesterday but am writing a morning post instead whilst sat in bed.
Tomorrow i think will be week 3 of my diary and I think that the keeping a tabs on myself is definitely worth continuation. It certainly focusses me to achieve little things each day, ad gives me an outlet when things are difficult. Yesterday was lovely. It was mums birthday and we went out as a family for a meal at her favourite restaurant. It was a set prince and i gave mum the money for me and Oh out of Novembers pay so that felt good Also went family visiting in the afternoon with OH something we haven't done for ages and felt nice to actually have an afternoon to see people who matter. We've both been workign so hard it was a good break.
With regards to the diet - having felt so rubbish on friday I made an effort yesterday so I wen on the bike for 30 mins and will do the same again today. I did have a piece of chocolate cake at a family visit with my cup of tea - and then was mad with myself after but i didn't have a pudding after my meal out... and might i say that was an acievement as they had sticky toffee pudding enjoyed by 3 of the people sat around me!! yum yum... i didn't have so much as a spoonful!! well done me!
So plan diet wise today is to have some pineapple when i'm hungry between meals, plenty of water and do a roast this afternoon - gammon and veg. I'll use the left over gammon to make a gammon and pepper loaf for my lunches this week.
I have anohter few bits to do today... I need to tidy my bedroom - i appreciate this makes me sound about 12, but as I sit here in bed typing the floor on my side of the bed is covered in clothes so I need to put them away.
I have presents to wrap up to go under the tree and i want to call round and see my sister.
i think thats it for now... i shall come back later while the football is on and write a bit more...
feeling optomistic today!!!Baby due 4th May 2013

Hi there

Thanks for sharing your diary. I will reading with interest!
Although your situation is very different to my own, I wish you all the luck in the world with your goals!
I too have found that food shopping and lunches is a massive black hole for money. At this time you think nothing of £3.50, a quick Maccie D's here, and before you know it you've spend £25 a week on lunch!
All the best, and Merry Christmas! CuppyCakeCredit card- [STRIKE]£487 [/STRIKE] £96.78 Overdraft-[STRIKE] £1000[/STRIKE] ALL GONE!

I am in the same boat as you with the debt & also the weight loss!
I am doin SW too & I hope to get to target by June 2012 for those free meetings LOL
Do you also find it quite hard at this time of year to be good food wise - those darn mince pies are sooooooooooo tempting!!!
I am just going for a little bit of damage limitation with regards weight this month I think it will be easier come January - he he this is what I am telling myself anyway
Well I am gonna subscribe so I can follow you on your journey - think you are gonna be my inspiration!!
