I'd get a gigantic flashing sign saying 'BAH HUMBUG!' and have it flash as fast as possible. Next year she wouldnt moan about your characters etc.

You have young kids for gods sake. You have to make christmas special for your family and !!!!!! everyone else.

    What a stupid selfish idea.

And people wonder and wail when others are intolerant towards children - when idiots like this run around blethering on that their families give them the right to "exclamation mark everyone else."

Immediatetly before reading this, I saw another post, just as mindless as this one, from the same poster.:D

I think "Bumpmakesfour" did brilliantly. She still has her lights, and the friendship of her neighbour. Complete result, rather than the pettiness as suggested by yourself. Are you "Fang" by any chance?

Shed have a problem with your taste

There are various schools of thought: one says put kids and your mortgage first, and don't show it to your neighbour; the other says pretend neighbour is important but always your kids are first

If you prefer so, but dont have to be loud about it.

To me putting the kids first included teaching them tolerance and respect for others. I don’t think giving them the ability to compromise and negotiate made them weaker or made them feel unloved at any time.

I don't see this clashing with your well reasoned post at all.

    This whole thread is ludicrous.

A: Outdoor xmas lights are rank and only serve to announce to your neighbours that you are mentally challenged.

B: The neighbour wants to be able to keep the curtains open at night. Why? Do they want everyone to be able to see into thier home like a big tele while they sit there picking thier noses?

Moral of the story, we all have to get along. Keep your xmas decorations within your home and close the bl00dy curtains!

    Bah! Humbug!

  • I'd never complain to people about their decorations, but I have always thought outside decorations are really tacky.

In fact in the past my ex and I used to drive around one area that was prone to it for a laugh at this time of year. Deciding which one was the most tacky was always a difficult choice.
