No, a Neapolitan Mastiff is not a 'chav' dog. In fact I doubt you'd ever have seen one; they're pretty rare.

Sorry, but this is so ridiculous, you don't even want a 'common' dog?

I have seen Neos, and I'm sure your dog is lovely but I find them to be a very upsetting sight generally. What humans have done to dogs in the name of 'beauty' and conforming to a standard of so called perfection.

Be a snob about everything else, I don't care (ok forgetting the fishfingers!) but snobbery about dogs has done the species a great disservice and much actual harm.

FYI I was on here earlier whilst kids were at school, and they are at after school club on a monday. When I am on here at night my son is usually sat next to me on his DS or netbook.Hubby is home now and made me a tea so I sat on here reading whilst he is talking to them about their day in the playroom.(Btw I am 36 weeks pregnant and supposed to be on bed rest so I think sitting on a laptop is ok)
The house is clean, the washing is done, the uniforms are hung ready for 2mro,we've read and I've signed their reading records.Myself DS and DD2 made dinner..they had chicken breast in wholewheat wraps with three different coloured peppers, cherry toms, cucumber and beetroot followed by green grapes, purple grapes and strawberries incase you think I chuck a ready meal in the microwave and sit on here instead). The girls sat very happily sat colouring some christmas print outs whilst DS wrote out a stack of times tables.
Whilst most people are in bed asleep tonight I will be awake with my DS who will be wanting to draw flags or recite times tables etc till 3/4/5am and sorting pump feed alarms out for DD1 so hubby gives me time to myself in the evening.
I AM super organised actually and just so you know I have two with special needs(DD1 is tube fed and has CLD) and I'm staggered that you tell me to enjoy my kids and me like a plonker sits here justifying my time on here!!

p.s nice touch with the X there :rotfl:

p.p.s!! last time I checked this thread was about christmas lights..wasn't it???:p

You don't have to explain yourself to Lilibet.

That upset me tbh.I spend so much time with my kids but felt I had to justify myself even though I know I shouldn't.I posted about lights, tried to keep a sense of humour and tried to resolve it with the neighbour..and I get that :(

I think it's probably a good time to lock this thread now.

there have been too many nasty digs being thrown around.

Don't you think it's a shame though that so many threads end up being locked because people feeling all brave behind the safety of their laptops have digs at others?Really pi$$es me off!!What happened to being nice?Is that not "the thing" to be anymore?

Heh? No, I wanted a Neapolitan because I love Neapolitans. My dog before that was a Labrador and you can't get more common (as in numbers of them) than that. I simply said they were rare in relation to doubting that douglas has seen lots of them. Most people I encounter when walking mine have never seen a Neapolitan.

What you're talking about are 'show types' which are over-blown and over-bred, but that applies to ALL breeds. My Neapolitan is below - can you honestly tell me you find that an upsetting sight? As with all breeds, what you see in the show ring is far removed from sensible breeders who breed for function, not 'type'

I'm not a snob about dogs. There are certain dogs I would never have myself, but for practical reason rather than how popular they are (e.g. I don't like toy breeds and I'd never have a long haired dog)

What a beautiful colour!I've never met a Neopolitan "in person" tbh but I always thought they were way more wrinkly and jowly than yours looks there.
