Hey namsie - I think thats just the way they process it. You still get all the money from the offer letter (the refund is by bacs and the interest is by cheque). The woman was quite adament I will get the money back that was quoted in the letter!
Its different if your in arrears but Im sure thats the position if your not0 -

Hi all,
Just off the phone to lloyds there, and was told the following:-- Anyone who received an offer letter prior to the 21/10/2011 will receive another re-calculation letter within the next few days with details of revised amount (he said they were sent 2nd class)
- If you have an active Lloyds TSB account, the money will be paid by BACS into the account, providing it is not a joint account.
- Once the letter is received, payment should be made within 14 days as they have more staff now working to clear the back-log.
Thanks0 -

Well I have not had any word from Lloyds, 2 months from receipt of my offer and calculation breakdown.
I wrote to them before the calculation letter arrived and have not had any response to that letter, I have emailed them now 4 times and only received one standard automated response saying I will get a letter within 5 working days to acknowledge my e-mail. Needless to say that this has not materialised either.
I want to call them and ask what is happening but it took me a whole day to calm down after my last infuriating experience so I don't think I will bother, I know what the response will be.
What I still can't understand is this - I was told they could process 3000 cheques per day 2 weeks ago and when I asked about BACs they said they could only process 300 BACs payments a day (I know they were probably just lying to get me off the phone but bear with me) if this was true they would have processed about 42000 payments in the last 14 days and the reported backlog would be clear.
However they have now opted to make payments by BACs which they are saying is quicker, that is the exact oposite of the reason I was given why I could not have BACs when I asked for it, when Lloyds said it would take longer.
Also they are now saying the process is that they pay themselves the money first then process another payment to us from a different department. I am at a loss as to how this is going to make things quicker than just writing me a cheque.
I don't know what the hell is going on frankly and everything I am told or I read just makes me think every single word Lloyds speak and everything they do is crap!
Thanks for your time folks.Money Saving IQ 142 - Does that mean I am tight?0 -
