    Well done!

Its a shame that we have to threaten the banks with court action to get OUR money. After years of them having our business, you would think they'd be decent enough to pay up fairly :(

Exactly. Hate is a strong emotion but thats a word to describe how I feel about Lloydstsb. The hardest thing to grasp is when i say to the people on the front line in the Bank, That I hate and detest the company they work for and i'm going to take my business elsewhere, they dont seem in the least bothered. It's sad really, that we have to come to this.

Would appreciate a bit of advice guys.

FINALLY won my claim against Lloyds TSB in March 2012. (It took 4 years due to a combination of them stalling and the FOS being incompetent.)

Sent off the letter confirming I'd accept the result, then got a letter (on 9 March) stating that TSB had 4 weeks to send me a settlement letter. Surprisingly TSB haven't bothered sending me anything and are now not answering the FOS emails asking what its going on (it's now 2 weeks after the end of the 4 week period).

Finally losing my patience I rang them today to be told they "couldn't find my details" (the accounts were closed a few years ago) and that I should "go and get my paperwork in order and call them back when I had." (There's nothing wrong with MY paperwork!) Asked to speak to a manager and was told I'd have to wait (on an 0845 number sure!) when I asked for a manager to call me back I was told they "don't do that".

Can I threaten them with court being as I've won the case? This is basically wrecking my head now, its been 4 long years to get an FOS result, and now they're trying to worm their way out of even bothering to send me a letter?

Does anyone have any contact details for these fools? ( I have customer.care.insurance@lloydstsb.co.uk as an email address and used their PPI claim telephone number)

Thanks in advance for any help guys.

    Stunts.

Have you had any further response from Lloyds TSB since you sent them confirmation that you were accepting their offer?

If so, what did they say?

If not, my advice would be to send them a polite but firm letter stating that they made you an offer in March 2012 and you have since sent them confirmation that you wish to accept their offer but have heard nothing since. Make it clear that this is further confirmation that you wish to confirm their offer (incase it got lost in the post - or they've conveniently lost it....).

As they've made you an offer, they have admitted that they owe you money - therefore, if you give them a fair deadline, you can claim your money back via court - so politely state in your letter that you are setting them a deadline of 35 days (28 days + 7 days to allow for postal time) from the date of your letter.

Then print TWO copies of your letter and send them to the following address by RECORDED POST (this ensures that you can get a proof of delivery should they say they haven't recieved it....)

    Letter One:
    Lloyds TSB,
    PPI Customer Relations,
    BX1 1LT.

    Letter Two:
    Lloyds TSB,
    Tredegar Park,
    Newport,
    NP10 8SB.

The first address is their PPI address - and the second address is their main headquarters.

The threat of court usually results in them paying up - it worked for me, and its worked for others on here too after I told them what I did to get my money. Thats because Lloyds know that if you take them to court, and you win your case (which you should do if they've admitted that they owe you money and you've set them a fair deadline to pay up by), they'll have to pay you the money that they owe you anyway - plus additional court costs.

    I hope that helps!

Remember the important parts - give them a fair deadline to pay you by (ie, you can say on Monday that you want paying by Friday - you have to be fair. The general guideline on the courts website is, if I recall, 14 days minimum - any less and your court case will be thrown out on the grounds that you haven't set a fair deadline). Make sure you also send your letters by recorded post. This is vital because if Lloyds fail to respond, the courts may want to see proof that Lloyds TSB have recieved the letters. If you have a proof of delivery, you have evidence. If you don't have proof of delivery, they could say the letters have been lost in the post - and you can't prove otherwise, and would probably lose your case.

DO NOT email them your deadline. Do everything by post. Emails can get lost in cyberspace - or they can be picked up by someone else and lost/buried on a system and forgotten about.
  • To restore some faith!!!
Didn't think I'd stand much of a chance but sent of a pre typed ppi letter template and posted it recorded delievery early March? Lloyds acknowledged recieving it March 14th and said they would look into it. Today recieved a letter offering early settlement and a full refund of insurance £1975.00 the letter said money is on its way ASAP. Checked my account online and it was paid in on the 19th! I'm soery toe.... hear everyone is having a hard time mine was very straight forward and hassle free... Good luck all!!!

Cheers Gringo. I've heard nothing off them since they originally refused my claim.

    Everything went through the FOS.

The FOS letter in March acknowledged I'd accepted the judgement (in my favour) and then stated the TSB had 4 weeks to contact me and I've heard nothing (this is now 6 weeks later...) The FOS sent me copies of everything they sent them (the explanation etc) so this is binding isn't it? (the FOS say it is)

Love your advice. I'll send them the letters, recorded delivery (thanks for the addresses) and will give then 14 days to send me a letter. This is only for a settlement letter FGS, not even payment!

I'll report back if they decide to reply to me...

I hate to see whats going to happen for the payment. I imagine I'll be retired when I eventually get it...

Update: Called PPI line at TSB bank and the (surprisingly) helpful lady stated they have no record of the case or judgement.

I'm close to ripping my hair out here. 4 years to win it after their stalling and now they say they have no record of it???

I am convinced they employ people to shred documents sent to them even though they are recorded delivery it does not seem to matter. Talk about data protection. Banks are a law to themselves.
Not all CMC`s are the same....:A

In my experience, Royal Mail's record of getting the record is pretty patchy.

In fact, if you get proof of posting (free from the Post Office) and send it first class then FOS will deem it to have arrived two working days later anyway.

My preferred method is fax - it is cheaper than the post and you get an instant receipt. If you have a fax modem you can do it from your PC. If it is a working day and before 5 p.m. the 8 weeks starts running immediately. Otherwise it is the next working day.

The number for Lloyds TSB is 0207 012944.

Thanks guys. Sending my politely snotty letter off tomorrow, recorded delivery, 2 copies to the addresses Gringo gave me. I've photocopied the letters the FOS sent me, proving I've won. Lets see what they say eh?

I've jotted down that number though for future reference Magpie, cheers ;)
