  • I too am getting rather annoyed with lloyds tsb!!!

I originally complained back in may and received a calculations letter 16th september! Great I though, finally I'll get payment!

Et er!! I've called and called and called and got no where!!

I called a few weeks ago and was told if I hadn't received payment in 4 weeks to call back (but the person on the phone took NO details from me so how do they know I'll get payment in 4 weeks??

I have sent three emails and from two I got standard responses saying "due to data protection we cannot discuss your claim by email" to which I wrote a response along the lines of if it were the consumer owing them money the bayliffs would be found by now and I don't think I could use the excuse "I've a backlog and can't pay you yet". I am yet to receive a response to this email.

I called today and was advised they are dealing with payments in date order and they are at the end of August so I should get payment in two weeks!

I won't hold my breath though!! It's discusting!!! If I owed them money they'd soon be on my back with bayliffs etc and just taking the money out of my account!!

Short of calling them every few days I dont know how else to get payment from them??

I also called them 3 times this morning, my dates are same as yours, calculations letter dated 16th September. I got 3 DIFFERENT replies!!
1st call..........no timescale, couldnt tell me what date they were working on!!
2nd call...........told me to ring back in 4 weeks time, no dates given!!
3rd call..........currently working on Beginning of August payments, told me to ring back in 6 WEEKS!!!

If I did my job as badly as Lloyds, I would have been fired a long time ago. There is no consistancy whatsoever. Lloyds are a joke
  • Still waiting for my payment also. Spoke to Lloyds this morning and was told they have no way of telling when I will be paid and they could not even give me an estimate as it would be too complicated an equation to work out.

They can generate a maximum of 3000 cheques per day (although how if they know this fact they cant work out how long it will take to write and post all cheques due they could not say). I told the guy he was talking rubbish and I was embarrassed for him and would like to speak to a person who had the ability to answer a question and he wouldn't put me through or give me the name of another individual who would even go so far as to offer to look into things.

I tired of the phone call and proceeded to write an e-mail to CEO copying the complaints department, FSA and my local MP. I usually just mince on and whinge about this sort of thing but there is a lot of money at stake and wont be taken for a ride.

We don't know is not good enough...if you don't know then go and find out instead of trying to fob customers off.

  • Whilst I'm really chuffed for you ivysgirl, your post is proof that Lloyds aren't following a set pattern when it comes to dishing out the cheques i.e. date order. When I rung them a couple of days ago, they told me that they were STILL processing Augusts repayments.

My letter was also dated the 15th of Sept, yet I've been told that I should expect to wait ANOTHER four weeks to recieve my cheque. Happy days. :p

I will keep badgering them every few days, just like they have done with me in the past when wanting payment! After all, it is MY money and not theirs.

  • I have received two offer letters in the past two weeks (re seperate claims). From reading this thread, I can see that it is far from over

Does anyone know if the interest is then recalculated to the day that they actually make the payment?

I don't see why they can't pay everyone by bacs. I would be happy to pay the very small charge to ensure that I got my money by the end of this week. I appreciate that there is a backlog, but it doesn't take long to enter electronic payment details - I know, I do it for a living!!
  • How long was it that you received your money from sending the email?

And when wa your calculations letter dated?

The only "problem" with constantly bombarding them with emails is that you're moving yourself ahead of people that have been patiently waiting. Now obviously Lloyds are a joke as this farce has proven and I'm not defending them in the slightest, however they insist there is not a priority list and people are dealt with in date order, which if true - people are getting themselves ahead of other people who are in the same situation but don't have the time/aren't able to bombard Lloyds until they surrender.

I emailed two weeks ago, she sent a reply 2 days later saying it was being dealt with but couldnt give me a timescale. I replied to that saying customer relations were very poor, still waiting for current loan to be restructured and still paying PPI premiums cos I couldnt stop them because of the ongoing claim. Told her I had spoken to FSA, FOS, MP, local paper, Watchdog and anyone else that would listen. Got email this morning saying refund had been CONCLUDED and would be in my account (even though they said I had to get a cheque) by end of the week. Checked bank this morning and it was there.
MY calculations letter was dated 16th September but my OFFER letter with no figures was dated 22nd August. Wondering now whether they are working from the dates on the offer letter and not the calcs letter.

Someone should ask Martin for his opinion, what's the best route to get this farce "out there" into the open. Watchdog? (Via Martin?) or Via mass "forumnites" emails to them etc

I did not BOMBARD them with emails only sent 2, complaining about how long the process was taking. It seems most other people have done the same. I have waited patiently for nearly 7 weeks and only rang PPI line yesterday to see if they had any further news for me, to be told it would be another 6 weeks. If they had competent people answering the phones there would be no need to email anyone higher up!!
I think the ones who are doing nothing are getting left behind because Lloyds think there not in a hurry to get their money. I was more annoyed cos i was still paying the premiums and they wouldnt let me stop them.
