Currently have under 4 quid in my current account and am considering either selling a kidney or doing favours for sailors - neither of which are good choices for a student nurse !

Flash !!!!!!! Can you loan me £2 ?
I`ve tried for a small short term Lloyds TSB loan [without PPI] to tide me 0ver until my
£8400 + extra interest arrives [on month 8 now] & they refused me as it was`nt in their best interest to grant me a loan they know i`ll pay off shortly. Thanked him for not helping me out of the pit they kicked me into.
I also asked llyods for help ased for an overdraft till i get payment....Answer NO

We take seriously our responsibility to help protect customers’ financial well-being. Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) is a product which insures customers against an inability to make repayments on credit they have taken out, due to accident, illness or unemployment. Our PPI products were good quality, and rated excellent by independent assessor, Defaqto. However, in some cases the sale of PPI did not meet customers’ needs and we are working hard to address this.

Last year, the FSA announced new rules for handling PPI complaints about mis-selling which they wanted applied to past sales. This was challenged by the British Bankers’ Association and subsequently a judicial review into complaints handling was launched in October last year. The High Court ruled against the BBA on 20 April 2011.

We recognised that customers were facing long delays in respect of their PPI sales-related complaints during the BBA’s judicial review. We decided to end our participation in the review and instead to focus on addressing the concerns of our customers who felt they had not been sold the right product. We were the first of the major banks to do so. This decision is good for customers as it brings clarity to those affected. It is sensible, prudent and the right thing to do. We have set aside £3.2 billion for the potential costs of redressing customers’ PPI complaints and are dealing with customers’ queries and complaints as quickly as possible.

no its closed paid it all off aug this year
  • When I called at the very beginning I was told that I would recieve the money as it was redress for payments mis-sold and they had to re-compensate me so my account stood as it would if I had never taken the PPI.

But the posts above have really thrown me. Yes my loan is still open but I have no arrears or missed payments

That's what I was told. They said that the money would temporarily be credited to the loan account and that it would then be paid to me from them. They said it was because it had to come from a different budget.

The thing they were clear about was that I would get every penny of the offer amount as per my original letter.

Sounds like they are having a change of heart...

Oh please don't say that verymadmax. I was told exactly the same as you so surely they can't just change their minds now? I presume ur loan is still open too?
  • This whole business of paying the refund toward the personal loan was worrying me since receiving the recalc letter earlier this week.

Just to fill you in on my personal situation here (long time reader, first time poster), I have a loan still open, that I took out about May 08. Complaint upheld in August, first offer through September 17th. No payments yet, obviously.

In early November I had three calls to Lloyds where each advisor apologised to me for being misinformed by the last advisor.

Pretty sick and tired of it all, but after those calls, I've since been making sure to record every conversation with them afterwards (very easy on a smartphone).

So back up to speed, I called the number on the recalc letter this morning, querying that very sentence about having the loan restructured, etc. I was told in no uncertain terms that full payment will be coming through to my bank account still and would not be taken off my loan. I have the guy's name on the recording. Hope he's not wrong for his own sake, eh?
